I was simply replying to the comment that telford is the next marcus stewart and pointing out what he needs to achieve in football to be that. Fair enough, our of interest would you have tried to sign Telford if you were DC? I definitely would have, especially now we seem to be playing 4-4-2 more often. Took his goals well yesterday too by the looks of it...

Telfords first goal yesterday especially shows him starting and finishing the move

That's a point how long is Nichols contract, we didn't give him 3 years did we?!

That's a point how long is Nichols contract, we didn't give him 3 years did we?! Given the money spent on him then I suspect we did or at least an option for 3rd year. Even if it's 2 years, DC will offer him a new deal (if he still here) as he clearly rates his ability. Only hope is he asks for a move I'm afraid.

Took his goals well yesterday too by the looks of it... I don't know DC's reasons for not giving Telford a proper run of games last season. Maybe he needed to keep faith with Nicholls due to the money he spent on him, or maybe Telford upset DC in training. Either way, strikers are there to score goals. Running around in circles and disappearing up your own arse, with no end product, does not win games. Telford never got a chance last season to show what he can do in league 1. However, what he did do on his few appearances was amass more goals than Nicholls. I genuinely cannot think of another manager who would still be playing a striker who has only scored a couple of goals in 50 games. Surely the sell-by date on Nicholls has long past.

D.C. said he wasn’t sure of Telfords work ethic and fitness, think it might come back to haunt us, hope Reilly gets a chance soon.

In Development games he ran and ran and scored the vast majority of our goals; and in his rare appearances for the first team he buzzed around and, as has been said, looked far more of a threat than Tom Nogoals.

Would totally agree thought he had a nasty edge in a good way to his game, and would have liked him here. After a season smashing them in we won’t be able to afford him.

2 poor teams again, was more than happy to get a point. The only thing the dreadful ref gave us,was the penalty. The Shrews were falling down all over the place, complaining to the ref every time and he was only too willing to help them out. The new goalie looked useful,so that's a positive anyway.

When Joe Martin put a short pass directly to a Shrewsbury Player resulting in his red card, It looked like he thought the Shrew was a team mate. New Club confusion?

Seriously, why do you bother continuing to support Rovers all you do his moan, moan, moan, at least some of can take some positives from today, it's not like we've been use to success in recent years. So, you think losing at home to the club with the lowest budget is ok? You think playing for 90 minutes and the ONLY shot is a penalty is ok? You think it is ok to get a player who cannot get in to a second division team is ok when you have a good young player in the development squad? You think it is ok to have a leaky defence for 3 years and not get a quality defender in is ok? You think that it is ok to have 7 central midfielders? That's why I moan, because DC isn't the God everyone thinks he is. Every result, is down to him and in the last 20 league games we have won TWICE. No doubt you think that's ok too Don't make you hands sore

I think this team does need time to gel. I know people saying "why can't we be like Peterborough?" but they may have just got lucky - or be playing a style which is easy to adapt to quickly. In the conference people wanted us to be more like Barnet (Physical- direct), in the second more like Northampton (Physical - direct), and last season like Shrewsbury (physical -direct). All those sides declined. Well I think we may just come out of this bad patch better than before - and with a style of play that is more than just a short term fix. But we have to have "a gel" every season. Since DC took over 2 things have been constant. A bad start, and losing the first game in the FA Cup. I put this down to bad pre season ideas / training / and signing players late. The FA Cup. DC doesn't like cup games, even though they can bring more income, and the majority of fans would like a cup run (for a change) I think a good pro footballer doesn't need to "gel". Then manager tells him what to do, and he does it

Yes I would have signed Telford. He was on a free, not some outrageous fee of £350k or something like that. You spend that sort of money on DEFENDERS

Fair enough, our of interest would you have tried to sign Telford if you were DC? I like telford,i watched him play for the development squad as well as his limited home appearances for us. I dont think he was ever likely to come back because dc obviously wasnt keen and dom would not want to come back after being overlooked so often last season anyway. We will just have to see over time if dc got it wrong this time.
