If the rumours are correct and DC might be going there, think he likes sincs, Ollie C, James Clarke, TC, Bennett and can't afford sercs and Locks, what does everyone think, would he come back for some players? Jesus! You know how to ruin a good party don’t you! Sorry just was thinking who he might want when he gets his next job, could have started a New Beginning post claiming to have bugged the lift at Sunderland 😁😂😀

DC is the 14/1 5th favourite to replace Martin Allen who's just been sacked by Chesterfield. Who are in the national league drop zone. Can't see him taking that tbh.
As for the city stuff DC said he was planning on watching training of various clubs to Learn new things. Wouldn't read much into that

I can see DC joining the sh*t as he's not going to stay on the dole for the rest of his life proclaiming to be a Gashead. It's important to stay in football as it's very difficult to get back when you've been out for a while. Would also give them a chance to do a bit of willy waving in the press. The BEP can run a week of quotes from LJ et al about how he's at a proper club now to provoke us and then a week of reports about how poorly Rovers fans have responded.
The only issue I can see is someone with the ego of LJ won't want a clearly better manager than he is being brought into the club.
Press in the north west listing him as a candidate at Oldham. I think that would be a good move for him.

Press in the north west listing him as a candidate at Oldham. I think that would be a good move for him. Oldham have got flakey foreign owners who won't get their chequebook out and who most of their fans despise.

An extract from his statement on the LMA website: “As for my own future, I have already spoken to colleagues within the game and I plan to watch some games, and will visit my peers and watch other coaches and players in action at their training grounds. I am a student of the game and you never stop learning as a manager. This will give me the chance to re-evaluate and prepare myself for the next challenge. I love football and I am excited about the next project, and what I can bring to that club, wherever that may be." Its very plausible that he arranged to watch City.

Tbf - I couldn’t care less where DC and MS end up! I look forward to playing them and beating whoever it may be because I support Bristol rovers! If any player wants to leave our club and not play into the quartered then I don’t want them here either! Simple as that!

Bit surprised his name hasn't come up amongst the Oldham fans - they are clamouring for Gary Bowyer. For a guy who achieved two consecutive promotions he seems to lack something of a profile in the minds of lower league supporters. You would think he would be top of every supporter's wanted list in league two.

I hope, for his own benefit, he takes a bit of time out to get his head together. He must now have a good idea what he wants (facilities, set up and money etc) so he should be a bit choosey and not jump in too soon. Enjoy the pay off and time off! Pretty sure we’ll come up against him at some point and my money would be on a northern club in upper end of div 1 from start next season

Maybe, although in a lot of ways he is about as close to a managerial unicorn as you can get. Two promotions in a fledgling career and unsullied by failure, well apart from those 8 games following Ward- but if one was being kind you could make allowances for what was a hospital pass not of his making. He has seemed to be overlooked in the running for jobs in favour of the likes of Hurst and the Cowleys who have arguably achieved less in tangible terms. I guess what I am trying to say is that outside of Rovers circles his achievements don't appear to have got as much credit as they deserve.

I completely agree, whilst he was manager I was always fearful that he would be poached by other clubs, but at the same time both relieved and perplexed as to why the likes of Hurst etc were touted for jobs above him. He deserves a crack at a decent sized club, despite his final few months with us being a disappointment.

In fact four promotions in his first five full seasons as a manager. Yet still a bit under the radar. And only 41 years old.
