i've had enough of the DC debate , if he was as good a manager as some keep saying. why were we such a shambles in most games i've watched for nearly twelve months. His achievements are in the record books and great memories, but he was rightly got rid of as far as i'm concerned.

Well, he was in charge for 56 months and you've said he's not a good manager based on just 12 months? Nothing prior to that happen then? Right time to part ways? Who knows, but he's definitely a good manager and the most successful in Bristol Rovers history.

They were 3 points above the drop zone and the board said it was enough. Doesnt undermine his achievements or make him a bad manager

Really? Sounds just like a poster's own personal opinion of DC rather than a Championship club's Chairman. There's hardly anything ground breaking by those comments. Just as “sounds like...” is your opinion I suppose. I don’t think he said it was a chairman’s opinion did he? UTG! Err, why then did the poster introduce the post about talking to the ippo MD, and clearly suggest that the post was inside info on what ippo thought of DC, and how they went for Hurst rather than someone like DC.

Someone comes on here and posts some information they have which adds to the discussion. Some choose to imply he’s being less than truthful. I have no reason to believe it was anything other than an honest post and thought it added to the thread. I’ve always thought DC a better manager than PH and have said so on many occasions. Others may disagree. Whatever, the post added to the thread. Move on. UTG!

Excellence, then is not an act but a habit.” you're only as good as you are currently. So...

He was a good manager but over the last 12 months that hasn’t been so,he could go on to better things or maybe be not but he had to go,the results, the football, the interviews wasn’t good enough Gone but not forgotten.

And he did sign all the current squad who are doing so well. Agree though he lost his way.
