Why change a manager in December and not do all you can to allow him to improve the team in the Jan window?? Might as well have kept DC until the summer. GC is on a hiding to nothing imo Replacing DC for Coughlan makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me really. It's hardly an upgrade. If they had a quality replacement lined up then fair enough, but the board seem to be winging it and making it up as they go along. Totally clueless. It makes perfect sense if you entertain the idea that Coughlan is on a fraction of DC's wage. Budget board, budget manager.

No signings and no communication from Wael will tell us what a lot of supporters already think. We need to maintain division two status. And our owners need to cough up money from their own pockets to get us out of this mess. It's quite obvious with all their signings several clubs have gone down this route unless they were all well under budget regarding the FFP rules. I for one would find that hard to believe. The FFP rules are a convenient smokescreen for our beloved owners to hide behind. I thought it was more that Wael had millions that he was just itching to throw at the team but he couldn't because the supporter's club wouldn't match the amount that he was dying to invest? He must feel so let down and disappointed that the supporter's club can't match the level of his ambition for Bristol Rovers.

A great friend of mine told me on Saturday that he had cancelled his Share Scheme subscription, he was an original member and when he phoned the club to tell them, they indicated that he was the third one to cancel on the same day.

Depends how much they agreed to pay DC off with.
Stewy was probably happy enough with kebab and chips on a Saturday night instead of wages!

MS asked to be released from his contract, so we avoided even buying him Kebab and chips. It would also appear from what we have been told that even DC left without having his contract paid up in full. Our owners have obviously saved a small fortune by giving GC the managers job and only having to increase his salary to an acceptable level.

what’s weird about it? We’ve like ten days for the owner to show us what he’s about or we are down! I’d like to think the fans know the main reasons for our demise and I think wael owes us a shot at staying up or take the consequences!

Oooh you bitch 😂 They wouldn't be daft enough to pay DC the full whack though would they? I'm thinking that a sane resolution would be to keep paying him until he find another job, capped at a year? Wouldn't have thought DC would be out long either...

There's no way a league one club would pay 5 years up front though is there? That sort of stuff only happens to Mark Hughes. I expect some sort of years severance paid monthly or until DC has another job thereby limiting the clubs liability. But then, this is the Chuckle Brothers and their accounting for the training ground was badly off....

I thought that if you pay a manager for all the years left on their contract you get compensated should the manager get another job within that time frame.
On communication, could the CEO not appear on Having a Gas to answer questions from fans? I believe the City Chief Executive did a couple of weeks back.

Can’t quite believe just how tolerant the fans have been regarding the owners. I think it’s about time they became a little more assertive . UTG

We slept walked into non-league with only a couple of hundred fans on the pitch when the inevitable happened. Apathetic is an understatement.

I think our owners are playing a very dangerous game regarding the loyalty of our fanbase i can remember the days of the faithful 5000 and the way things are going at the club no Stadium, Training Ground, tents, very poor facilities toilets etc relegation battle awful football to watch and lack of transparency the crowds will start to dwindle starting from next season, people have lots of other choices/things to do more so now than ever.

With the Communication breakdown engulfing the Club I will only believe an improvement has occurred when I see Hani and Wael both with megaphones facing the Thatchers Terrace on Match days singing "Bristol Rovers, we'll support you evermore".

I have more chance of going fishing and landing a whale than hearing from a Wael. So, you're off to Chasers Saturday night? Some of our forwards should pop along, guaranteed to score and win ugly!
