All i’ve seen since January 1st is people moaning that they want Payne out and a new striker in. Payne leaves, and there is a mass meltdown. A new striker, that has played at League 1 level for a good amount of time, is young, and can’t possibly have a worse attitude than Payne. All i’m seeing is people slating him because he’s not Pitman or another striker that has proven he can score 20+ a season. Give the lad a chance and then judge him after he’s gelled into the team. Perhaps this thread should be merged with the JCH. Don't think there was a "mass meltdown" re Payne leaving - just about everyone was delighted. Also I don't believe there are too many on here that are "arm chair supporters"

I posted this on another thread, I can cope with players being full of their own self importance and arrogance, its what they do in the dressing room and on the pitch that is the biggest concern.
I have known a few rovers players to be total bell ends off the pitch, but on it, they were legends.
There was no meltdown when Payne left, we were glad to see the back of him, but it was suicide to do it with no incoming striker first, and with no other foil to go with him. So get it right.
We also need a winger, we sent our only natural pacey winger to Swindon, and haven't replaced him. I would love to know that reason why.

Fair point but why the title Arm Chair Supporters? I was wondering the same, why did he use that title? ?? I was going to say I'm an armchair supporter these days since the new owners came in as can't see anything good happening while they are here so I am not spending my hard earned money to be dissapointed, this is coming from a fan that used to go to every home game and quite a few away.

Probably meant Arm Chair Managers.

Unfortunately the club and its esteemed leaders are grasping at straws. Straws that are shortening by the day! I personally thought we'd have more clarity professionalisum and a set of plans for the future. Alas its make it up as we go along and of course the 101 confidential clauses mean as much as they wld love to (cough cough) our esteemed leaders cannot inform us of what their Real intenions have been/are!

Please lord give me strength!!! He's a defensive minded central midfielder that can also do a job at right back if need. Having said that it wouldn't surprise me if we played him on the wing. FFS.

Pointless getting rid of Bennett with nobody to come in for him. Its not like we are overrun with wingers. Will probably flood the narrow midfield now and hope to hit teams on the break. Kelly is still here so maybe they will continue with him at LB and THD at LW? - Even though THD is far better as a LB.

Im not questioning why we sent him out, but why we haven't replaced him, when we have been bereft of width most of the year.

I would join you if saturdays weren’t so sh** in the winter and could find something better to do,on my own armchair though

Why is it pointless to get rid of Bennett, hardly played, when he has, he has been crap and on high wages. Good deal in my view.

He didn't say that at all, did he? What did he say then? Going on from his chat about budget and it being raised, he said something like 'if anything it will go the other way.' So, istm, he meant that if he were to guess next season he'd say the budget would be going down not up.
