Great result! letting them back in before HT made it a nervous second half with our record of conceding late on, but thank Cheese we held on this time. Shame Plymouth got a spawney win at Pboro thanks to fatman getting sent off, Why couldn't the sh#thead have done that against us? COYB

Topper - I expect GC will have wanted to prevent Payne from playing but I would guess if we were deperate to get shot of him and he insisted on being allowed to play in that game I'm sure GC would have reluctantly agreed.

2 very different debuts here. Ogogo has been great, he reminds me of Kante for Chelsea, very similar battling midfielder. I haven't liked the look or Clarke-Harris at all. What a stupid yellow card to get for no reason. He threw himself diving on the floor earlier and he also chased down a player when we threw the ball back to Southend after they put it out of play due to an injury. JCH had twenty or so minutes but why miss a chance to slate someone ... FFS ! Hey steady on- he's entitled to his opinion and he was actually at the game, were you? |

If Payne does play against us , I think it maybe a good thing , just think about it like this , if he’s fired up , just think how fired up all our players will be. I can see him getting himself all wound up and getting sent off. I’m sure we will take care of him , I hope so as the guy is an absolute toilet !

Yes I saw it ... and you’re right everyone has the right to an opinion. That said we are way too quick on this forum to destroy our own players and this lad just needs a bit of time. Another way of looking at it was during his time on the pitch he got a decent shot in goal and had a chance with a header. Decent day all round. Anyway let’s not argue mate ... we have won so let’s enjoy it. So why post this on Thursday evening "Coughlan boasted he knew the division inside and out and we end up with two reserves from Coventry if this is true ... the HoRs old club ... what a water take."? No you are right ... Good spot there ... I was gutted at the time,feeling a bit happier about them now. Emotions running high on transfer deadline night. |

I'm sure this was sorted as part of the transfer deal. I would hazard at a guest he was told he couldn't play against us. They know he would get the Tomlin treatment and couldn't trust his reaction given his response before to Gasheads

Yes four of us in a car and making decent progress home. You are right ...everyone is entitled to their opinion and I wasn’t too chufffed on deadline day . That said Ogogo played well today and I thought JCH got involved during his cameo. Adds some grit to our attacking options and had two Half chances from memory. I’m going to get behind them both as hoping they will make a difference to us. |

Massive chance to pull away at home to Shrewsbury next week. Lost 0-3 today and they've got a replay against Wolves midweek. Really need to build on today as it'll be tough to get points out of Sunderland. They've just spent £4m on Grigg! And we have the small matter of Pompey away in between |

I think we could go on a run . Won’t be surprised if we beat Sunderland and get something at Pompey who are stuttering a little. Challenge is the fact we have to go to a lot of the bottom teams who have already beaten us at home...some real scraps ahead. Twenty three points hopefully should see us safe, 16 games to go still a lot to do. We’ll be Sunderland’s 5th game in 15 days at that point. Hopefully they’ll be knackered and we’ll be on fire! |

Perhaps 22 points needed now to be safe. Each win makes the target easier. Some weeks back it looked like we might need playoff form to escape. Now we just need to be solid and get a moderate 5 wins and 7 draws in 16 games.
Surely we can do that?
