I think he was at fault a bit for their goal due to him being in front of the crosser and not getting close enough or making an effort to stop the cross for Clarke’s OG. Doesn’t get stuck in enough and is a bit weedy for a defender. Good passer of the ball at times and he has had decent games but looks a league 2 or conference player to me. Add to that all his injuries and he’s just not good enough. Thing is if we’d signed the left winger we so badly need them HD wouldn’t have had to play there and then James Clarke could have played right back. Not having that left winger is having a knock on effect throughout the team. Just an observation, we’re doing well and I hope our run of form keeps going because we’ll finish mid table if it does. I'm not we needed a left winger then, but we do now as Coughlan let Bennett go. Bennett hasn't had a good season, but with THD at left back (as most would probably like to see), his ability to overlap and provide the width we need just might have brought the best out of Bennett again. Bennett was far more effective when he played with Lee Brown, who also had that ability to provide width. Coughlan has done OK so far and has certainly done some good business, but letting Bennett go was a mistake, in my opinion.your opinion. here's mine Coughlan has done very well - look at the results and the performances, Bennett might be a good 5 a-side player but provided nothing in L1 football. He might bag a few in L2 but that's his level (at best)

I'd still be reluctant to come off to let him on, though.

Coughlan seems a good bloke who knows what he wants which in my considerable life experience is a major factor. Bennett not for me.Too flash and not enough substance. There is a frisson of excitement building for tomorrow.Stoke and Vale fans not happy up here but hey I'm Gas and Coughlan narrowly lost his first match against this lot so will be out to ameliorate that. Do hope the visiting fans appreciate our stadium. Will be quite a day. We have a history of not performing in front of large home crowds but hope we can change that. Finally, who will take our penalties???

I think he's predictable in that he cuts inside every time, but an overlapping full back would help to maintain that width. He also gave us something that no other player does, the ability to beat a man. All opinions though! I'm mixed with Coughlan, although I do like the bloke. Results have been good and that is far more important that anything else. Performances have been decent away from home but lacking at the Mem, where I think we need a bit more than just lumping it in order to break down defences. Needs must this season I guess, but I'd like to see him develop a better passing game next year, whatever division we are in.
