Yeah he's a quality keeper. Thinks he's just become a decent keeper recently, I can't recall many wonder saves of late. Plus if he was a quality keeper he'd have been moved on in January! Although he's a better keeper than Sunderland's reserve keeper. Centre half is our big weakness it's just a pity we couldn't turn Broadbent into the next Steve Elliott. Made a cracking save early on this evening tbf. I'd happily sign Bonham in the summer, whether we're in L1 or L2 |

First half we played well and contributed to a decent game of football, despite the gulf in class, which was epitomised by their first goal.
In a game like this you need the marginal decisions and run of the ball to go your way. They didn’t. Grigg’s shoulder looked offside for first goal, their keeper spilled three in the first half but none went to us. Bonham parries one and straight to their man.
No excuses - best team won.
I must say, there were some absolute belters on the north terrace today. “We love you Newcastle?” Embarrassing. And some of the slagging off of our own players is so f*cking irritating. Do people not realise the quality we’re playing against? Winds me up. If people want to slag players off they should go down the gate.

Thought we gave a decent account of ourselves tonight. Just the lack of quality which was expected. Aiden McGeady in League 1 is absolutely criminal. But realistically what can we expect from a team who in the last window alone spent triple (probably more including Max Power) of our record transfer fee.
Also got to say I strongly disagree with the Bonham criticism, should have done better tonight but he's leagues ahead of Smith and Slocombe and any keeper we could get. Think I saw when DC left he had the greatest save percentage of any keeper in England's top 4 leagues.
Minus Coughlan, HE IS the only reason we're even competing to stay up, people might disagree but I think without Bonham we'd be 24th comfortably.
