That is true but couldn't you say the exact same for Harrison? This is assuming JCH keeps up this form until the end of the season. Harrison had a good season. Plus he had less of a record which in a strange way works in his favour. On paper JCH is a journey man striker who doesn't score a lot of goals, what we are seeing (until proven otherwise) is a purple patch and I am sure clubs above us will be wanting to see a hell of a lot more consistency than a decent February to May. He’s got a good attitude and works hard for the team. Better to have a couple of forwards who can each bang in 10 to 12 a season, rather than one who gets 20 to 25. |

My only worry with Clarke-Harris is if he keeps up this form then I don't think he'll be here long, and then what? Sorry to be pessimistic and I would love our board to have actually learnt a lesson from Taylor/Bodin/Harrison, but I'm scared that's a genuine possibility in the summer. Happens to every player that does really well though doesn’t it. That’s football. Thing is some clubs make sure they deal with the negotiations in a way that enables them to get a good price and some don’t. We’ll always lose our best players to bigger clubs what we HAVE to start doing is make sure we get decent wack for them. |

No point worrying about the future but instead just think about the present. If we do have a gem then sobeit - as long as he scores goals for us and keeps us up this season then make the most of it. Which would you prefer a striker who is so good that other clubs look at him or a striker that doesn't score and nobody wants? Its a fact of life that if bigger clubs come in and make an offer that is too good to turn down then he will be sold. All I hope is that we learn from recent times and hold out for a much bigger fee the same as Forest Green did with Doidge.By the way to call him a journeyman made me laugh as he is young and nowhere near his peak. If this is a typical journeyman then give me a team of them!
Remember the Coventry Manager said that he signed a deal with us that "set him up for life" and with a two and a half year deal there should be no worry of losing him cheaply in the summer. He has a challenge which is beyond the end of this season and that is to become a regular goal scorer and leader of the attack at THIS level and then think about the Championship. many a striker has moved too quick and ended up a failure. Whatever will be will be.

Whatever will be will be. Agreed. Which club isn`t a selling club these days, when money starts talking? Man Utd couldn`t hold onto Ronaldo. Liverpool couldn`t hold onto Suarez or Coutinho. Hell, even Barcelona couldn`t hold onto one of their best players, when PSG came calling. It`s getting a fair price for him, that`s important.

If he doesn't have a few years left on his contract after this season, I hope the board are working on something already. Real asset here, hope we learn from mistakes and don't let another key players contract run down to 6 months.

Cannot fault him. Good control, holds up the ball well, good distribution, can head the ball on, physical presence intimidating, team player as he should shoot more but elects to pass, has a great shot and unlike our other players shoots below the bar? And puts so much effort in; always moving and defends well! Best forward we have had for some time and I liked Ellis! and as he showed with his goal at Scunnie - he's not all left foot. |
