By special request the earliest match day thread ever! I see Roger East a Premier League referee is in charge for this weekends game. Gasheads will be delighted to know Devon's finest, Brett Huxtable is the fourth official! UTG!

Often a concern when a Premier League official is in charge. I know we complain about the standard of officiating in League 1 (Huxtable being a prime example), but Premier officials sometimes can't compensate for the poorer quality of the play/players, or want to be the star of the show - both resulting in more cards being waved than are necessary.

If that's the case Rod, a pulled hamstring early on for Mr East, may well prove to be a good thing. Having said that, one wonders which Brett Huxtable will turn up. I think it may well be a good thing to keep him in the technical area.

I don't know, but it's fewer for us than in previous years because they're refurbishing and extending thr Mayflower stand, the one that was for many years derelict and unused. Another club that is fast leaving us behind when it comes to facilities.
Won't be going to this one as all the tickets had sold out. Let's hope for a better outcome after the cheating ref gave them a non-penalty last season. Hopefully our fans will be able to rub that smug bastard Adams face in it come full time.
"Adams, Adams give us a wave Adams, give us a wave"!

There's an interesting thread on PASOTI about why they aren't a more successful club than they are. Apparently it's because the new stadium developments will only take it up to 18.5k capacity (we wish), the south west/west country is a footballing backwater, and Bristol City have only managed it because they are funded by a squillionaire. www.pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=106907

Will we see Kilgour slot in for Lockyer, keeping the rest of the back four as per the last few games, or will James Clarke be moved into the central role, with Kilgour at right full back (assuming Parts and Leads are both unavailable)?
It all hinges on the availability of Parts/Leads I imagine. If one is fit again, then Clarke into the middle is the obvious solution. If not then I would put Kilgour in Tom's position as it is less disruption to the back line, and he has played really well at Maidenhead by all accounts.

Although it was permitted for the Saturday of the last international break the EFL has said that was a trial only and have now announced that the usual Saturday bar will continue.

Looking forward to this one immensely. We had a superb first half down there 12months ago, Lines & Ellis finding the net but that was all undone with some farcical referring in the second 45. Two very very soft penalties for them (1 missed, 1 scored) and Harrison being dragged down on a last man challenge, to which we didn’t even get a free kick let alone the stonewall red card. Adams antagonising the away end after the ref had already left the pitch, was the icing on the cake of a very bad (and bitterly cold) afternoon.
Time to put that right with a 3-0 win.

If we move JC in the middle, that will be 2 changes to the set up and I think we need to keep it as settled as possible. The Reading defender was on the bench again recently, so might be fit again. So GC might opt for him instead.
