Was it ever revealed what we paid for JCH? At the time it was undisclosed. On the back of 10 games he looks to have more to his game than any centre forward I’ve seen play for us, including Lambert, Roberts, Hayles etc. Obviously it takes more than 10 games to be comparable to those but he’s already a legend whatever he goes on to do Agree with Lambert but not Roberts and Hayles. They were outstanding from the get go. I said the other week he’s like Roberts but without that lightening sprint speed that Roberts had in his locker. All the other qualities are there though. Roberts couldn't score from out side the box though

Ive had the pleasure of watching both the Plymouth and Gillingham games in the flesh (my only 2 aways so far this season) and for both, the opposition was comepletely flummoxed as he just beat one player for both and shot at goal. The 2 or 3 or 4 opposition players that are still behind the ball and GK became irrelevant. Its really is incredible as you simply can't defend it

For me Roberts was very poor at the start. I remember that clearly. 🤔

Only 1 goal in his first 17 games for us, then 15 in his next 15.

Holloway wrote about him in his book and how Penrice gave him specialist shooting training until he learnt how to hit the barn door

Holloway wrote about him in his book and how Penrice gave him specialist shooting training until he learnt how to hit the barn door Don't say that out loud. The powers that be may have ideas on a new training ground and to save costs might actually install a barn door. Personally, I'd prefer a garage door. As a child this used to annoy the neighbours during street football
