It’s an overstatement but qualified in that it’s on the back of only10 games. He’s got pace, strength, good in the air, holds the ball up, beats players, scores from range. I see more in him than any player I’ve seen play for us but it will take time and consistency to prove it

Lambert had no pace...Roberts lacked any real skill level and was a very rushed finisher.(Btw..those two and Ellington are my favorite strikers we've had so not a knock) JCH has proven over his short time here that he has every quality to be a top forward and abit of everything to his game, and we are Lucky to have him!

Was it ever revealed what we paid for JCH? At the time it was undisclosed. On the back of 10 games he looks to have more to his game than any centre forward I’ve seen play for us, including Lambert, Roberts, Hayles etc. Obviously it takes more than 10 games to be comparable to those but he’s already a legend whatever he goes on to do He reminds me of Salomon Rondon so powerful and with a great shot if we don't get 5 million for him like posh do when they sell their top strikers ill eat my trilby!

Craig headed the ball in at the far post under no real pressure rather than behind for a corner. FFS - just seen the clip - would have been far easier to put it wide surely. Well, I don't expect he did it on purpose! The ball spun off his head. sh** happens.

I think we will have to wait and see how he starts next season. If he carries on then he will probably be gone by January anyway once we happily accept the first bid we receive for him! You also have to look his average / poor record at Coventry. That doesn't mean anything if he keeps scoring for us, Jason Roberts was hardly prolific before we signed him.

As I’ve said elsewhere the worst you could say about Tony Craig this season is he’s been reliable. Players will always make individual errors, however Tony will be in credit for points won over points lost at the end of the season.

They were outstanding from the get go. I said the other week he’s like Roberts but without that lightening sprint speed that Roberts had in his locker. All the other qualities are there though.

Which makes you think where our real defensive weakness actually lies and perhaps Locks is having a much better season than we are giving him credit for. Craig today was nothing short of awful. Defensive players are all about combinations and partnerships Lockyer and Craig have built a good understanding together and today that wasn’t there. Lockyer might have been awful if it had been Craig missing today. Absolutely spot on .... Together they are very effective but take one out of the equation and the other struggles. Swapping TC over to accommodate a defensive change was naive as well albeit I don’t know what options GC had to be fair.

If what we've seen so far is indicative of what will come, he'll be in the Prem on a £10M by January. Of course, it's almost impossible that he will keep the same form/stats/worldie-count for a year.

Pretty sure Roberts wasn't outstanding from the start, although I can't really see the comparison with Roberts as his game was built on space and power, JCH is like a faster Lambo or a better Beadle, a strong powerful striker with a cracking shot on him but not the fastest. As far as former Rovers players go I stick by my view that Zamora is a good comparison, the fact he's was a left footer adds weight to that and his goal on this link at 1:52 is very similar as yesterday's, although nowhere near as good!

Pretty sure Roberts wasn't outstanding from the start, Istr he took about 11 games to get his first league goal. Can't find it on the net, so might be wrong.

The man is absolutely on fire at the moment. The strength and speed of the worldie goal was impressive enough, but taking into account that he'd just beaten five or six players from the halfway line, I'd seriously say that is one of the best goals I've ever seen. Ever. (Until I remember all the better ones) Add in 7 (?) goals in 8 games, and we've got a sensation on our hands. If any Coventry fans are following his progress, they must be weeping. Unfortunately though, as you say, it can't go on like this. Still, even if he doesn't score again this season, he might already have just done enough to keep us up.

Just really hope we have him on a decent length contract. DC always seemed to like his players on short 2 year deals but when it comes to JCH I sincerely hope it's longer. Would hate to see him leave next year.
Credit to GC for his January transfers, both have made a massive difference to our performances. If he can replicate that in the summer by bringing in a few more of the same quality then we could be on for a really good season.
UTG!
