Some bizarre substitutions. Sincs for Upson was OK as Upson had just been booked, but not bringing Sercs and Nichols on when we really needed to try to change the game is very strange. May as well keep them fresh for Saturday as we're not going to come back form 4-0 or 4-1 down. |

Not toward the end of the game, but I think we all expected at least one or two subs at half time to try to change things - but within a minute it was 4-0. Hopefully the squad can put this behind them and sort things out for the vital games to come. |

Well done Dave. What are your plans for keeping Marquis and Coppinger quiet? Tell them to forget about the reverse fixture at the Mem and show them the video of their thrashing today, after all they are only seventh in the table and lower than Portsmouth were when we played them a few weeks ago. Hope they keep up their form on Saturday v Walsall. We were clearly poor, but they showed a good reaction from their hammering last weekend - as you say I hope they repeat it this coming Saturday |

Well that's my unbeaten run gone.
Quite happy to start the Luton match thread and try and resurrect our fortunes on Saturday.
Having said that and seen Wilks tear us apart tonight, it's anybody's guess what Luton's speed merchants will do to us on Saturday.

Chastening evening for everyone at the club ... us included.
We are far from safe yet ... anything we get on Saturday is a bonus and we have four huge games to save our season. Coventry, Bradford, Rochdale and Wimbledon. We need at least eight points from them which is a tall order.
I don’t see us getting anything from Barnsley as things stand on what could be a promotion party for them or a tired up Fleetwood. Looking for revenge after the goings on earlier at the Mem.
Onward to Saturday ... time for Ollie Clarke to make way surely?

The gaffers got it horribly wrong tonight. Why he’s changed a system that’s worked so well in recent weeks I’ll never know, but it’s backfired horribly. Jakubiak and Reilly both look completely lost and are therefore pretty ineffective. A midfielder for one of the front 3 should be the half time change. Dunno but it was clear after 10 minutes that he’d got it wrong and should have brought sercombe and Nichols on for Jakubiak and Reilly. It would have left us with one sub left . Rather than that it’s over an hour in and he hasn’t made a single change. I like 95% of what Cogs has done so far but his tactics and team selection in a couple of games has been beyond belief. I agree. Should’ve changed it as soon as it went to 2-0, or no later than 5-10 mins after that. Everyone else around me seemed to see it, why GC couldn’t is beyond me. I agree that he’s done a superb job up to now, but he’s had an absolute stinker tonight. |
