If convicted of a race related offence and as to serve a custodial sentence I can't see him getting another job in football.
He clearly has serious anger management issues, I guess he hasn't learnt to control them.

On a positive note for Joey ...I’ve been up to my loft today rummaging through old boxes and I have sent him my soap on a rope that I found from Christmas 1972.
On a more negative note I have cut 7/8 of the way through the rope so hopefully the piece of trash will totally get what’s coming to him in more ways than one.

The blokes a total bell end. You just have to watch his pathetic attempt at putting on a french accent following his debut for Marseille.

The same vile scum who stubbed a cigar out in a youth players eye.

The bloke needs some serious counselling and a course of medication! Probably get plenty of counselling and medication behind bars, probably not the type he was expecting. He will be bending over backwards to me nice to people then.

Mark you are spot on mate but sadly Sky have a very low Recruitment standard as reflected by the spitting in the young girls face by the vile Carragher.

A man has been arrested following an alleged altercation between Fleetwood boss Joey Barton and Barnsley head coach Daniel Stendel at Oakwell. The man attended a police station on Wednesday where he was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and racially aggravated assault. He remains in custody for questioning. Think your around 5 hours to late to this thread!

Bailed until May, so it will be business as usual for our match up there.

I've no idea why Fleetwood haven't got rid of him yet. The club will know exactly what has happened from their own staff who were at the scene, surely none of them will try and cover for Barton and be tarnished for the rest of their own careers? They don't have to wait months and months for the conclusion of a police investigation and trial to determine gross misconduct. At worst they should suspend him and get in a caretaker for the remainder of the season - I recall when Dave Jones was under investigation (and rightly cleared) whilst at Southampton Glenn Hoddle stood in and was eventually given the position full-time. Early action required to preserve their reputation. Barton probably knows it's inevitable and if he had a shred of decency he would stand down, not that his lawyers would encourage that!

If they sack him for gross misconduct that could well prejudice the trial outcome, although I don't know how Fleetwood can let him continue as manager until May, it's not like he's just one of the 11 players on the pitch. But why wasn't he charged today, the police must have all the statements they need to bring charges?

If there is concern over prejudicing the trial then he should be suspended, it is obvious something happened and unless cleared at a trial I would have thought keeping him managing the team would be detrimental to the game, what to say he won't do this again?.

I don't see why Fleetwood should have to fork out £1000's per week until the judicial process is complete for fear of prejudicing the outcome. If it's very clear cut with eye witnesses or cctv then cut him adrift now. i hate comparing the 'everyday workplace' to football but in this instance my employer wouldn't suspend me on full pay after striking someone in the workplace regardless of what charges may or may not be about to take place.

I wouldn`t want him as my manager. Imagine being told, you`re about to be axed.

I don't disagree but it's down to the owner to decide, I suppose there's always a chance charges aren't brought.
