What`s happened to my old team, HSV? Having been up there all season, they look like chucking promotion away.
My friend has a HSV season ticket and to quote him "They're horseshit and a bunch of useless lady gardens". That's pretty much spot on.

For anyone with a further interest in German football down the ladder, from next season the DFB are streaming plenty of 3. Liga games on YouTube after a successful trial. Managed to watch Osnabruck vs Hansa Rostock on Friday, a lovely little ding dong.

Bundesliga a few years back.

It's a mixture of mismanagement on and off the pitch, I can't remember how many relegation playoffs they scraped through. It was coming for a long time.

Wolfghang Wolf the former manager of Wolfsburg always amused me. He was born to manage them!

In the past I would have been proud of this achievement, and the times an English side got to the UEFA/European/Champions League final was compulsory viewing, regardless of who you supported. It felt a bit like watching England with a few Scots thrown in. It just doesn't feel the same nowadays with virtually all-foreign teams. It's still a massive achievement for English football, and I applaud it, but I don't feel I am connected to it.
