One of the benefits of supporting Rovers is I rarely had a vested interest in seeing a team lose, I always want an English team to win unlike say a Man U fan choosing whoever played Liverpool.
I have lost a bit of that with the Champions League having so many teams from a national league and fewer players eligible for England.
Having said that, it is still Bristol Rovers despite there being fewer Bristolians. It is the fanbase that makes the team.

The number of English starters in both European competition semi-finals :- Arsenal 0 Chelsea 1 Liverpool 3 Spurs 3 7 out of 44.......pretty shocking. |

Stuart, here is an interesting stat....Leicester would have finished seven points clear at the top of the Premier League if only goals from English players counted.
