So, we now know all our rivals for season 19-20.
Coming up: Lincoln, Bury, MK Dons and Tranmere.
Coming down: Ipswich, Rotherham and Bolton (-12 pts).
Staying put : Sunderland, Pompey, Donnie with probably Coventry, Pboro and their strong finish to the season, Oxford to challenge !?
With the 7 new teams we certainly have a lot of travelling to do (with only MK Dons nearish).
How many of these lot are we going to finish above next season ? I'd like to think Bolton, Bury and Tranmere. Think MK Dons and Lincoln (if they keep their management) will do well and could finish top 10. Not sure about Rotherham and Ipswich for top 10. Expect Sunderland, Pompey, Donnie, Posh, Coventry and Oxford to challenge for top 6.
....... and Rovers ? Well top half will be good, could be better if we get the right partner for JCH and get someone exciting on the left side.

One things for certain tranmere will occupy a spot between 24th and 21st. They looked a terrible side from what I saw in the playoffs

Without seeing our or any other club's transfer business to date, right now I made bite your hand off for a top half finish. I think, in classic Rovers fashion, we'll finish between 13-17th but easier to predict once some new faces arrive.
Think Sunderland will go up automatically next season, they'll likely just throw more money at it. I think Ipswich and Pompey will challenge but Rotherham will win the play-offs again. Gills down.

Of the 24 it’s a bit more “northern” next season. Losing Argyle, Walsall, Charlton and Luton from the southern parts and Scunthorpe not too bad for me. Just about more northern teams coming in. Glad I’ll have Pompey, AFCW to travel to, still good away days. Agree with what some others have said. Newport were unlucky, thought they were just about better than Tranmere and how they didn’t get a pen, blimey. UTG!

Currently I can only see a season of struggle.
IMO We need 2 keepers, CB, RB, CM, LM, RM and a CF.
Can GC bring the correct players in, I don't know, we will see.
Bring starting 11 quality into the club and we could top half maybe more without too much trouble.
All if and ans.

Of the teams coming up, I don't think we should worry about them.
Of the ones coming down, only Ipswich might be formidable. Bolton are a basket case.
I think the division is a little bit weaker. Phew.

If Lincoln keep the Cowley brothers they'll do well again I think, and I expect MK Dons to do well. Ipswich and Rotherham should finish top 6 and the Sunderland, Pompey, Posh, Cov and Oxford will be strong IMO.
We will be one of the favourites out of 8 or 9 to go down. Others will be Wimbledon, Bury, Gills, Accy, Rochdale, Wycombe, Shrews. Not sure about Tranmere, they'll have momentum which will in my opinion see them finish midtable.

No predictions are possible at the present time other than with no goalkeeper we will probably struggle!! First predictions can only be made much nearer the start of the season. I just hope that most of our transfers will be sorted out by the time the first friendly comes up and I don't expect JCH to be going anywhere unless come end of July he feels there is no ambition in the signings. He needs to have another successful season with us to prove he is not a "half season wonder".

They looked a terrible side from what I saw in the playoffs I wouldn't read too much into how they played in a play off final. I'm sure a lot of div 2 fans would of had the same impression after our play off final against Grimsby, we then went on to get promoted the following season...

Rotherham are the sort of team that will retain a lot of their squad and be very good at this level. I think everyone forgets the gap that's building between league 1 and the championship. Fully expect Rotherham and Ipswich to be top 6. You can probably add su serland and pompey as near certs as well

We need to recruit wisely because otherwise it will be a long and difficult season AGAIN!!

We need to recruit wisely because otherwise it will be a long and difficult season AGAIN!! Why will it be long on difficult, unless the ALQ's suddenly pull funding we know from the latest annual results they backed DC, we just need GC/TW to spend the money more wisely, if they do, and we retain JCH and he keeps scoring, and also re-sign Bonham or a similar goalie, we should be at least mid table.

A club that has had to cut back financially in recent seasons drastically. They are not Sunderland. Perhaps if they get off to a good start then they can get into top 6 but I rather think Rotherham are the stronger bet for what you said in the first bit. I'd expect Sunderland, Pompey, Posh, Donnie, Coventry and possibly Oxford (who had a brilliant end of the season) to set the early pace. Would be nice if we had a good start - with the 4/5 starters Cogs wants and he was to get them - we can be top 10 after first 10 games. Also, only 1 of the 3 relegated from The Champ last season got promoted this time round - Barnsley !

Can see tranmere struggling especially with the rumoured loss of Norwood, bury will struggle with the situation they find themselves in and the same can be said for Bolton, further points deductions for them would be the final nail in the coffin for them. So that’s 3 of the teams I can see going down. Going up I believe Rotherham will be strong in this division so tip them for one of the top 2 spots. Ipswich I will go for as champions and the playoff places could be contested between a whole host of teams including I believe us! All in all I think this will be a weaker division than last season

Even if Ipswich sell their best players, a club like that will have enough clout to entice the better standard of players at this level. That's my thinking anyway.

Ipswich have some good young players like the youth (or former) internationals Andre Dozzell, Teddy Bishop, Flynn Downes, Tristan Nydam, Dylan Crowe, Ben Morris and Ben Folami that could do a good job at this level in the next year or two. Jack Lankester is also highly promising. Jon Nolan is a good player at this level. Alan Judge has played for Ireland and Emyr Huws has played for Wales. They have the basis of a good squad for League One.
