Very poor and very offensive. Surely if in an official capacity with the club, then he needs sacking! Tada!

Nick Day’s comment summed it up perfectly.

Disappointing.
I am happy to help him understand the circumstances if he needs any clarification. It's one of the few things I happen to know something about.

As said by one of the D-day veterans "I hold no grudge against the German people for the sins of their fathers and Grandfathers"
Pity a few more people don't take that view.

You’d think as a historian he’d understand the concept of a European community was devised almost precisely to stop this sort of thing happening again.
Or that modern day Germany does not equate to 1930’s Nazi Germany.
Clearly as poor at his job as he is at judging how appropriate this post was.

Because you don't agree with his opinion? Obviously being from Minehead, with its Nazi links, you be biased.

Evryones entitled ta their own opinions tbf.
BUT, today all we concentrate on is those brave people, who showed such amazing courage, didn't consider themselves and some of whom who made th ultimate sacrifice. A bygone amazing generation we may never see th like of again.
We should, and must remember what they did to preserve others freedom.
And also i say Rest In Peace all those who died that day 75 years ago an i include British, American, French and yes Germans as well as all other nationalities.
Lest we Forget.

The EU's primary purpose was as a coal and steel trading block. 2. Where did all the Nazis go after the war? Answer, West German civil service.

Crikey ... I think that’s in poor taste. Think it Mike but why publish it ? Not getting enough attention in the close season?
Each to their own though ...

Largely due to necessity of these materials but also because multipolar trade and interdependence is a very good way of incentivising peace. It is in nobody’s interest to go to war with their suppliers of necessary materials. Of course, history is written by the victors. I was personally unaware that the German civil service was run by leftover Nazis but y’know, learn something new every day.

Whatever one's views that really has to be in the worse possible taste. Pathetic really.

Blimey, I can't see how the club can continue to advertise his books in the club shop with views like that, as somebody else as posted even if you have such strong views why tell the world. I'm surprised this has been moved as I fear it'll be all over social media and the Bristol Post by tomorrow, what an idiot.
