If Scales is talking to Fleetwood and see their training facilities he will choose them over us if the terms are similar! They have a newish facility which is apparently a big draw for players. I will be surprised if he joins us now. Which, as you & I have discussed many times, is why it's all very well saying we ought to sign so-&-so, or strengthen such and such positions, but we ain't a player's dream club. And it isn't just money. Ambition is still a big thing in a younger players mind and they will want to know they have a good chance of progressing. I’d guess any NL player would want the upwards trajectory and being given a definite starting slot. I think most agents would advise on which would provide that. Hell, it really is a bugger that we have such an awful place and borrowed facilities. |

Any player worth his salt looking for an ''upwards trajectory'' will look at BRFC's record of developing players (esp. forwards). He won't look at supporters' toilet facilities, etc.

I was thinking more of Alfie and Rollin, but I take your point bb. I hope Davies is what we all hope as, despite his age, I believe he hasn't played a lot of games? He's played over 100 league games but none of them alongside Van Dijk  |

Lovely training facilities, but yer playing in front of 2.5 k, or 8-9 k with Rovers. They’re not nailed on to do better than us. Know what I’d choose, if I had ambition. Don't think you quite understood me. If you got ambition you don't plan to be there long. You want bigger clubs to notice you. If there's a lot of them on your doorstep there's a better chance of that. Less so if stuck in the wilds & scouts have a 180-200 mile round trip to watch you. Clubs and Scouts don't care where a player comes from or plays his Football do they? Why are we looking at a player based in Ireland in the first place then? Why have we signed a keeper from the Dutch 2nd tier? It doesn't have anything to do with it imo. |

A charge doesn't mean your guilty, just they think they have a case against you that you have to defend |

A charge doesn't mean your guilty, just they think they have a case against you that you have to defend Perhaps they’ve charged him with being a complete tosser? No jury in the land would find him not guilty. |

t is just a matter of time before Bristol Rovers add young defender Liam Scales to their ranks, according to his current boss.
The Gas have been on the verge of signing the 20-year-old Irishman from UCD in his homeland for close to a fortnight, however the Students' manager Colin O'Neill says it's simply bureaucracy that's holding the deal up.
Graham Coughlan has already admitted his interest in Scales, who turned down a move to Manchester City under-23s in favour of first-team football.
It was thought that late interest from Portsmouth and Fleetwood Town might scupper the move, but O'Neill now believes the deal is all but done and Scales is destined for the Mem.
