This thread was supposed to have been about gigs you've been to. Have a word with yourselves will you? Done.

Would have absolutely loved to have seen the Clash Hardly remember much about it, was only 16 or 17 at the time and was walking past the queue with no idea who was playing. Someone randomly offered me a ticket for face value who I later found out was Steve from the buzzcocks. Can't remember who supported them so will have a look for the ticket. Missed my bus that night so had to walk 9 miles home. Edit. Was Feb 1984, support was Billy Bragg. Tickets were 4 quid.

The most random gig I went to was in the Duke.
We originally planned to see a band called Soundtrack to our lives in the Louisiana but when we got there it was sold out.
We went to the Duke and there was a jazz band called Keith Little's Hot Six playing. They were all in their 60s and were unbelievable!! One of the best bands I have ever seen!

Like I said, don't remember much about it so couldn't have been that brilliant. Public Image also, saw them far too late in their career too. Prefer smaller venues too, there's nothing quite like a band on the up in a tiny sweatbox with a hundred or so in the audience.

Last Thursday night I watched Andre Rieu in concert in his home town of Maastricht. Not really my thing, but it was a treat for the Mother-in-Law as she likes that sort of thing. It was all classical and operatic, but blow me down (back off Bolders) at the end he only went and brought on the Village People! They had all the old duffers rocking I can tell you ! As I said, not my thing but I can still appreciate it was a good show and entertaining.
Oh, and Maastricht is a beautiful city. Worth a visit for a couple of days.

It was one of those round wheel things and it broke free and just rolled down the field and hi....oh whatever. Nurse!!

Anyone got any decent gigs lined-up? My eight year old has somehow got into Queen and there are a few Queen Tribute bands playing in Frankfurt soon. I think he wants me to take him to one of those.

The greatest gig I've ever been too was Stone Roses, Heaton Park 2012.
The first of their 3 initial comeback gigs.
Seeing my 2nd favourite band live in the flesh, after believing it would never happen was incredible.
Seen them 8 times since, but that first one, in a field in Manchester with 80,000 other Roses fans was spellbinding.

Ah, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, that's a blast from the past. Their first few albums were really good Behind The Music, the album they realeased in about 2000 possibly 2001 is brilliant, in fact.
