I am no fan of his at all, but there has to be major concerns regarding his treatment.
1. The British Police tip off the BBC about raiding the home of Cliff Richard. Apparently, the Police say this is to publicize the case and hope that it brings other people forward to testify against him. The same tactic has been used against many other well-known personalities. All of this before the person has actually been charged with any offences. 2. Robinson films some blokes entering court, who have already been found guilty and who were arriving to hear their sentences.
Which one of those two examples actually causes prejudice in any potential future court case?
Also, the fact that he was arrested on the street and sentenced to prison within three hours? Something is not right here and people should be asking questions about this as it may one day happen to you or someone you know.
The whole procedure against Robinson stinks. Once again, to avoid flak, I have to reiterate that I am no supporter of his.

He's a nasty piece of work.
Not a shadow if a doubt about it.
Some of the charges against him have been creative, to say the least, but he's a rotter.

The law and politics should be kept separate.

The law and politics should be kept separate. Tell that to Robinson. He muddied the two, I feel little sympathy that such secular minded judgement was not given to him either.

The law and politics should be kept separate. Agreed. But wasnt it the police police, the CPS and an independent judiciary who charged and convicted this ?

Last time I checked, that nasty little twat wasnt part of the criminal justice system. I think you can judge a society by how it treats the weakest and the worst of its citizens.

I don't think there will be much sympathy for him from anywhere. Just a bit worrying that the law can move so quickly and ferociously when there is strong PC motivation. When we see left wing protests that turn violent, cause damage to property, cause massive disruption and incur thousands, if not millions in police costs how many get arrested let alone convicted and imprisoned? The police are more likely to try and appease them by jumping on skateboards, wearing a flower in their hats or wearing rainbow laces in their bovver boots!

9 months for the poor lamb Clearly a bigger danger to the general public than the muggers, sex offenders and violent yobs who you can read about avoiding prison every day.

9 months for the poor lamb Bit of a shocker when you consider he has already served two months in prison. Read my original posting again. The Police shout out the names of 'suspects' (innocent people) in the hope of more people coming forward with evidence. Robinson films blokes who have already been found guilty and they were arriving to hear their sentences. This is not justice.

Like the violent sex offenders that got given decades of jail time you mean. The ones whose case he nearly collapsed? I think you understood the point but I'll play along. It's not black and white - not every sex offender gets off and not every one goes to jail. The point is plenty of sex offenders excape prison every day of the week - who should the general public fear most. Taking political prejudice out of the equation if possible.
