Like the violent sex offenders that got given decades of jail time you mean. The ones whose case he nearly collapsed? I think you understood the point but I'll play along. It's not black and white - not every sex offender gets off and not every one goes to jail. The point is plenty of sex offenders excape prison every day of the week - who should the general public fear most. Taking political prejudice out of the equation if possible. Yeah I did but I'm just not sure about it. I dont know that many convicted sex offenders are walking free are they? As in they are convicted and their sentence is suspended or to go for a good think or whatever. Does that really happen of is that just daily mail stuff?

I'm all for having every violent thug and sex offender off the streets permanently. Would be nice to have consistency. Just seems this particular conviction is politically motivated

As in they are convicted and their sentence is suspended or to go for a good think or whatever. Does that really happen of is that just daily mail stuff? I don't read the daily Mail but if they are reporting based on fact from a court what does it matter. Do you think a convicted offender would get a five year sentence but the Mail report to their readers they went free, had a suspended sentence or a "good drink"? you wouldn't need to spend long on the Internet to find plenty of examples of people avoiding prison for all sorts of violent acts and sex offences. Many years ago a couple from Gloucester were convicted of a sexual assault where they took a young hitch hiker back to their home and carried out all sorts of horrific acts. They avoided prison but learnt their lesson - the next dozen victims never saw the light of day again. That was a long time ago but the point is many offenders at the seemingly lower end of the sexual offences scale avoid prison but progress to more serious offences. In the meantime leaving some valued prison accommodation for politically motivated sentences for the likes of Robinson. Again, what type of person is more dangerous to have free to wander our streets? im not defending him at all - he seems a vile individual but the criminal justice system in this country is a disgrace at times.

He was warned not to do what he did so f**k him.
What I want to know is why he didn't seem to have such a problem with the sex offenders in the EDL.

You learn something new every day....
"Contempt of Court is not a crime, it is a civil offence. This is the first time someone has been jailed (twice!) for such an act since 1940."

The really dumb thing is that in their attempt to punish him, the Establishment are only helping to recruit people to his cause. If they had not arrested him in the first place, this whole incident wouldn't have been known by everyone. This whole story wouldn't have happened, and his attempts at publicizing the court case wouldn't have gone further than a couple of hundred people.
The establishment have fecked up yet again.

Like you or I would have been he has gone through due legal process. Now convicted. Excellent. That he is nasty, right wing extremist f**k wit is almost by the by. But for some of us, its lovely to see him sent down.

What is intriguing, is why anyone would defend this idiot without proper grounds?

"Peter Gillett, 59, has been sent to prison for 18 years on charges of rape, cruelty and sexual assault on two girls and a boy after appearing at Lewes Crown Court.
The boy was eight when the attacks on him began.
Gillett is a former member of the English Defence League, which Robinson founded."
Lovely. Defend that, not a leftie or muslim in sight.

To be fair, the source is not reliable, plus, the guy in question has been banged up for 18 years. Also, Robinson has not had anything to do with the EDL for a number of years........so many holes in the story.

Surely the point of the article is that Robinson only seems to care about certain coloured sex offenders which seems hard to refute.

Seriously, do you expect him to 'care' about every sex offender in the country? Also, the EDL has no members. It's is not a club or political party. There is no membership, so therefore, no vetting as such. Anyone could claim to be 'in the EDL', but the phrase is meaningless. Bang Robinson up if he has done wrong. I have no problems with that, but this latest sentence is wrong. We all know it is. This other story is actually a non-story in reality isn't it.

He's set himself up for a prison sentence. It's what he wants to further his career as a wronged misunderstood martyr.
He'll be a hero in prison, so no hardship there.
He can then have lots more publicity when he comes out, fuelling his hateful career.
The Attorney General is a fool for pursuing the case. He's played right into Tommy's hands.
