Redeveloping the mem is the most sensible solution. We can do it bit by bit,so what if it takes years to achieve it will be our's and be in a location where most of us want to be. As for the parking argument,it never stopped the trashton rebuild. Come on Rovers make your minds up now and stick to it. Also the parking situation isn’t awful I drive to every home game and find a parking space I do as well but doubling the capacity would bring twice the traffic, so parking would be a major problem. |

If we use the South stand as a template, we should be able to get 5K north stand (higher than south stand), 8K East Stand and maybe 3K West stand.

Perhaps if things got to that stage we do have some sort of deal with the bus/train company, when i lived down under in Brisbane visiting the Suncorp stadium in the city centre my match ticket could get me free travel on rail & bus….just an idea potentially |

The club would have to implement a traffic strategy plan like Bristol Sport does for events & run a bus shuttle service from various park & ride sites, also there is already a new railway station being built at Ashley down which is expected to be open early 2024 & is only a 15 minute walk from the Mem. |

With the way the last couple weeks have gone they might build it facing the wrong way. |

The Meccano Stadium, capacity 19,500, and 50 pillars obstructing the views West Stand would be more than the 3,400 South Stand if the existing structure was bulldozed and a new one was built to the same height but further back so that the walkway behind the stand was the concourse. 20,000 is easily achievable on current site to include a spanking new East Stand with all of the corporate facilities and the dressing rooms. |

Another one bites the dust.
When the plans for temple quarter were issued at the beginning of the year, I thought there was no chance the stadium was happening. We hadn't heard anything on the project for years, The new plans seemed to omit mention of a stadium only including a sports facility as one of five options and the whole ethos of the area as a LTN didn't seem to fit. I was convinced it was dead in the water.
Then the announcement about the partnership and I thought I must have been wrong. Well it seems that my initial assumption was now right.
If there is a positive to come out of it, then we are looking to build a bigger capacity than 22,000.
Even more reason now to press on with the mem redevelopment. We're going to be there for at least another 5 years, probably 10. Was surprised to read that the north stand would be the next to have the south stand treatment.
......a thought just entered my head. I wonder if the UWE site is still available and the new owners have a different perspective on it.
