Home shirts out literally just before the season starts, Away shirt out after the season starts. South/South West stand planning permission debacle. I have a season ticket in the SW stand and been compensated £10 to stand somewhere else. Some people I know still haven't received their season ticket. JCH disaster and now the Fruit Market is dead in the water after realeasing a teaser video earlier in the year. Jesus f#cking wept We haven't got our season tickets either, Pete seems to know all our names so no trouble with the etickets being sent out. My old printer is feeling the strain though.

How would a redeveloped Mem be paid for? 4 Temporary stands paid by loans Indeed. When no alternative but plan B remains, apart from Plan Z which involves doing nothing at all, then Plan B will go ahead. In fact I'm thinking we've already started work on the plan. That surprising South Stand announcement was maybe not so surprising if Wael knew a few months ago that the FM deal wasn't going well. I've no real idea what the new owners were brought in to actually do, but I'm starting to think it's to be in charge of the fallout when Wael steps down soon, saying 'I'm sorry, but I've taken this club as far as I think I can".

Ah good. More bollox from you, was wondering when this would happen Time to return to your 6 fingered friends south of the river But have any of your multiple planning teasers from your 'friends' ever had any substance of any kind? I'm thinking 'no'.

I can't see why ytl would want a stadium next to an arena anyway surely it would be in direct competition with the arena for events and concerts etc. What like Wembley and Wembley arena? They are slightly different sizes though, unlike ours which would be virtually the same size of around 20K capacity?

"Just outside ,by a whisker ....BCC's boundary starts around Filton golf course"
The Bristol / South Glos border is actually drawn around the hanger, with the hanger in Bristol. Suspect dates back to Bristol wanting the business rates on the hanger ..... The rest of the airfield is in South Glos.
As to any sort of deal with YTL I once found myself sat on a train behind the then Bristol Rovers Chairman on his way to an EFL meeting. As he was quite unprepared for the meeting I got to see the contents of his laptop even though I obviously tried not to look.
He wrote a lovely speculative email to YTL and sent it on the train. I think if YTL had any interest they might have replied then, long before the fruit market was even thought of.
Also agree that the YTL arena seems to very much be a secondary project to building loads of houses all over the airfield, but I suspect it made it easier to get planning through for the actual profitable stuff. I will believe the Arena when I am sat in it too ...... .

Do you know this to be true, or is it a rumour? I haven't heard anything about the talks breaking down after 5 minutes. The talks didn't break down between planners, Conygar and any other interested parties, it was just that we didn't remain at them. Once it was obvious we wouldn't have the finance to take an active part we were off This was my post on the 11th August "Sounds like Hussain has had to break the bad news to Wael that he's got two Hopes of raising the finance for the Fruit Bat Arena and one of those is Bob Hope" Oh right. You made it up then 👍

Prefer we move on from the pipe dream and see the Mem get a few quid spent on it, and redeveloped in a piecemeal fashion to be fair And that will probably allow us to watch lower league football ( if we're lucky ) for the rest of our lives. No wonder we will always be the 2nd team in Bristol with that type of ambition.

So much for this line below from Gorringe in his Gascast interview about any possible future Mem redevelopment. If we didn't know them so well anyone would think they're making it up as they go along and saying whatever will keeps the fans placated at the time. 🤔 Gorringe on Mem redevelopment :
Be happy to see Gorringe gone. Wouldn’t trust a word that comes out of his mouth, and if he isn’t responsible for the absolute debacle of the last few months who is? I suppose he’s only doing his masters bidding though.

Good news tho eh? Develop The Mem! Haven't we been here before, one day developing the Mem is the way forward, then the next day it's a non starter as non football related activities can't generate any money? Plus where's the £20m/30m going to come from to develop the entire ground?

He would have had to fund the Arena that's not the case with the FM? Although there's no real signs of YTL funding, anything as it seems little progress is being made in turning the hanger into an Arena. I can't see why ytl would want a stadium next to an arena anyway surely it would be in direct competition with the arena for events and concerts etc. Unless they combine the two

If it happens it will be at the expense of limiting clubs potential. What happened to the days of Wael visiting stadiums like MK Dons? Has our expectations and ambition really been lowered that much.

Remember the days when Wael attended conferences giving his expertise on how to redevelop stadiums?

I suspect you’re 66% right. Who elses decision would it be? I suspect that Hussain has made the decision. People can talk about co-ownership all they want but he is the majority shareholder and the main man. Hence why according to D-Mac Wael had to get on the phone to him and salvage the JCH deal.

Most likely the latter decided it was always just a pipe dream by Wael and the figures simply didn't stack up.

Plus where's the £20m/30m going to come from to develop the entire ground? Where did it come from to redevelop; Home Park, Vale Park, Oakwell, Bloomfield Rd, London Rd, The Valley, Valley Parade, Meadow Lane, Prenton Park, Deepdale, St Andrews, Carrow Rd, Portman Rd, Ewood Park, etc etc?? Why was it viable for all those clubs but never for Bristol Rovers. Nothing ever seems viable for Bristol Rovers when it is viable for virtually everyone else (new stadium or redevelopment) and it seems a lot of our fans are completely accepting of the fact that whoever owns us can be forgiven for not doing what the owners of most other clubs do for their clubs, such as providing facilities for their supporters better than what they had 60 years ago!

Yes of course, he’s just spouting whatever they tell him to about the non viability of the Mem redevelopment as he will about the Fruit Market if Wael or the new owner haven’t got the bollox to speak to us themselves.
