Then again a board mod posted this earlier on this thread: "Apparently some heavies involved in this are none to pleased, even though it’s a BP article and are flying in to make or break the deal...There are even suggestions Wael should leave the country should it go wrong. Must be serious. From an inside source" I assume he was being genuine and not posting it in jest? “We have VIPs flying in from overseas tonight intent on saving the deal. It may be too late, and if so, he should leave this Country. “ Quoting my source. Up to you whether you believe it or not. I’m waiting to see how true it is. I’m waiting to see what the pro-Wael crew have to say in response. I’m sure it’s just a mis-understanding

I'm about to start a new thread for people who actually know something and are prepared to share with us all.
I'm not expecting quite so many pages.

Could be some nasty Chinese Burns being given out eh! Wouldn't surprise me to see a strongly worded letter being sent........in a very harsh font.

For me the post lacked credibility when i read Wael should leave the country if things go wrong. Sounds like it's written by a 5 year old. I find it amusing that the same group of posters who for months and months have been saying Wael should tell us what's going and stop hiding behind NDAs and confidentiality agreements, and have mocked those that have said there might be a reason they are in place, are now the ones shouting for his head because he did exactly what they asked. You can't have it both ways. The problem is there are so many bullshitters on here who claim to be in the know, it's difficult to separate the lies from the truth. The one positive thing is at least things are coming to a head one way or another.

If Wael is such a problem why don't this so say bloody consortium, front up, buy the club and take it off his hands. They can then tell us they will build a new ground and all will be rosy again. That is until two or three years down the line when we are still stuck at the Mem. By the way, I thought it was only the government who could kick somebody out of the country, not an unnamed consortium from wherever they be!

It’s not whether or not I believe it for me 81. I would like to know this, does your source still have credibility with you despite actually saying Wael should leave the country (for his own safety can be the only presumption) if this hampers the deal. These are the people that want the Lions share of the football club I have supported since a small lad and it’s come to this sort of bollox, really?

I’m sure it’s just a mis-understanding I'm not pro or anti Wael but my take on this is that there probably is a consortium - whether they are just investing or taking over is to be seen and they probably do have people flying in (although if they're a UK based consortium where are they all flying from?) - but whether it is to 'save' the deal or not is again up for debate. They could just be coming in to continue negotiations. The last bit I expect is just a personal throwaway comment by your source.

Perhaps VIPs = Hani/Dad
I.e. selling side rather than buying side.

I'm glad we have such lovely potential new owners...

I wonder what sort of people are potentially buying this football club, if threats are being handed out to those they are actually acquiring the club from? Quite unnecessary to mention anything of the sort in my view, wether you believe it to be gospel or not.

So many agendas at play the actual football side of the club doesn’t stand a chance.

Perhaps it's not a threat to intimidate Wael but a warning for his safety. Remember the backlash against someone who crossed the city in recent years?

My concern would be the amount of hurdles this supposed UK based consortium would have to overcome for this to happen. They would need to agree a deal with the shareholders of the fruit market to purchase the land, get planning permission for a stadium at the site, agree a deal with the Al Qadi’s for the sale of the club and sell the mem land off to property developers if they can in turn get planning to build homes there. Too many things that can go wrong imo but would be excellent from a supporters point of view if it can be pulled off.

No that is a fair comment and I said as much the other day when I thanked Wael for his candidness and giving us some positive news...but there is a danger now that it wasn’t his news to give. Then you have the Waelers who seem to think he is a top bloke and will come good which is fine but I wish they could tell us all why that is but it all appears to be the usual wink wink nudge nudge speak in riddles ITK bollocks which is bloody infuriating and just as bad as the Hamer/Masters dissidents.
