Very interesting to see that's he gone public on it which I really hope doesn't come back to bite him on the arse. I do think he may regret saying 2 years being the aim. I would be staggered if we manage to draw up plans, have them approved without appeal by any third parties and actually get it built and signed off all within 2 years. Not to mention ensuring the funding is in place. 3-5 years more realistic and even then I'll hold off my feelings of excitement as best I can until I see genuine evidence of it being built. Too many false dawns over the years for me to get overly excited by this just yet. I reckon this will bite him in the arse,he's obviously paid attention to the criticism regarding secrecy and lack of information released to fans but I wonder if maybe he's gone too far the other way to try and get back in favour. The guy from the fruit market seemed to think it was the first he'd heard of it, mind you that bit about an offer they couldn't refuse (hopefully no horse's heads involved) sounds like he's trying to big the price up a bit. Guess we'll see what happens.

Then again a board mod posted this earlier on this thread: "Apparently some heavies involved in this are none to pleased, even though it’s a BP article and are flying in to make or break the deal...There are even suggestions Wael should leave the country should it go wrong. Must be serious. From an inside source" I assume he was being genuine and not posting it in jest? “We have VIPs flying in from overseas tonight intent on saving the deal. It may be too late, and if so, he should leave this Country. “ Quoting my source. Up to you whether you believe it or not. I’m waiting to see how true it is. is the kingswood mafia guna put a cap in his ass?

Yes because all serious and above board business deals end with someone needing to leave the country for their own safety! This is going to make an epic movie heard Ray Winstone will play Steve Hamer Good home draw for Ray there

George Clooney will play Wael. Tough to call this one. Clooney has a decent record at home but Wael could pull out a surprise. Replay then home win for me. Anyway, it's been great to get the checkatrade draw so early this season.

My concern would be the amount of hurdles this supposed UK based consortium would have to overcome for this to happen. They would need to agree a deal with the shareholders of the fruit market to purchase the land, get planning permission for a stadium at the site, agree a deal with the Al Qadi’s for the sale of the club and sell the mem land off to property developers if they can in turn get planning to build homes there. Too many things that can go wrong imo but would be excellent from a supporters point of view if it can be pulled off. I can't see why a deal can't be agreed with the fruit market, particularly if BCC are considering a compulsory purchase order, likewise pp shouldn't be a major issue if BCC are supporting the development. If Hani wants out then surely a price for the club can be agreed or failing which it's costing him £2m+ year in losses, plus how many chances his he going to get to sell the club before debts exceed the equity in the Mem?

If what has been put in the BP is true, convincing Total Produce to sell their majority shareholding in the land will be the biggest challenge. Encouraging that they have been offered sites elsewhere, I’m thinking that a Fruit produce company could potentially benefit in a move to somewhere like Avonmouth where it is closer to the motorway, shortening journey times is vital in that industry as the products are perishable. If every single thing is looked at when it comes to planning, with the backing of BCC I can’t see planning being an issue, though you never know with those sorts of things. I can imagine that the AQ’s seem open to selling the club after the losses we have incurred though Wael might want to stay on in some role. Only time will tell if everything falls into place and this goes ahead.

I'll go first. For me the post lacked credibility when i read Wael should leave the country if things go wrong. Sounds like it's written by a 5 year old. I find it amusing that the same group of posters who for months and months have been saying Wael should tell us what's going and stop hiding behind NDAs and confidentiality agreements, and have mocked those that have said there might be a reason they are in place, are now the ones shouting for his head because he did exactly what they asked. You can't have it both ways. The problem is there are so many bullshitters on here who claim to be in the know, it's difficult to separate the lies from the truth. The one positive thing is at least things are coming to a head one way or another. No that is a fair comment and I said as much the other day when I thanked Wael for his candidness and giving us some positive news...but there is a danger now that it wasn’t his news to give. Then you have the Waelers who seem to think he is a top bloke and will come good which is fine but I wish they could tell us all why that is but it all appears to be the usual wink wink nudge nudge speak in riddles ITK bollocks which is bloody infuriating and just as bad as the Hamer/Masters dissidents.

I like where you are at. I'm fairly close, but I'm just stuck with sticking by our current owners because they seem to be the people who have lied to me the least. Forum ITKers? Unreliable to say the least. The SC director? Still says nothing. BEP? Has anyone believed anything written in there in the last 5 years? It's a ridiculous situation where literally no one has any credibility left. Sad times.

Unless Alan Sugar and James Dyson are revealed as members of this UK consortium I won't believe that it actually exists.
