We'll still have 498,000 locked out!!
Needs to be a 1.5M capacity at the very least

Whilst on the subject of 'LEAKED' plans. How would drainage work on that for rainwater, it's a massive funnel. Will it be diverted through the East Stand as a homage to the mem toilets. Urine straight into the river and poo straight into the renamed 'floater harbour' Either way it'll have to go past Ashton 😁

IF rovers are involved with the delevopment of a stadium at the FM site then us fans will be the last to know I'm afraid too much money on the table and way too many lawyers involved these contracts will be watertight and I'm not talking higgs watertight I mean nuclear submarine watertight, no comments or leaks to the media/fans untill the ink is dry. But Wael told us in 2019 that we were involved. Oops.

"best opportunity for years" Not sure we can get much closer than the UWE when all we needed was Sainsbury's to hand over the money, given that we'd already secured pp on the Mem and the stadium and finance was already in place, some were told. Even if Wael decides to proceed with a stadium at the FM pp for the stadium (and the rest of the proposed development?) will have to be obtained and also, potentially, pp for whatever is planned at the Mem. Agreed Topper, was looking like a plan but Sainsbury's didn't hand over the money so the deal was dead. I'd like to think plannning permission for the FM wont be a major obstacle judging by the local council support in developing the area from Temple Meads toward St Philips Marsh and the lack of residents who might object. I also haven't seen any great crested newts, so fingers crossed! Bing Bong: Clean up in aisle ten……💩

I have a notion a stadium announcement (positive) will happen at some point before christmas.
Based upon.....
JB wanting success ,Wael backing him. JB i believe will want promotion within 2 seasons . Else he will move on.
In the championship a stadium has to be fully seated for the start of the 4th season.
This leaves a maximum of 5 years from today to get a stadium built.
Currently the Mem has just about enough seats to allow EFL membership.

Instead we ended up back in league 2, with no progress on the stadium front. I hope a stadium comes off, but if it's at the fruit market, it sounds like that is a big project, that is going to take years. So even if it was announced now, it might not be ready in 5 years time!

Not sure if that has changed. The other fly in the ointment is that it's highly likely we would struggle and possibly relegated back to L1 in that time frame too.

We do seem to be going for it.
I think we’ll see some good news sooner rather than later.
Is it the 5th July the exclusivity runs out?

These things do take years but the redevelopment of that area has been in process for years - certainly when I left the old Royal Mail building in Cattlemarket Road to go to the new office in Patchway. I would like to think all the major industry that was already planning to develop there when the bridge to nowhere was built remains already in place. Look at the Bristol Temple Meads quarter already in place and I see this as just an expansion to that. Probably why they painted the bridge blue ready for the new blue bowl stadium

Yes - 5th July is the deadline set by the Wholesale Market for a response from Conygar. Has been extended once already but I suppose it could potentially be extended again if Conygar have not yet finalised plans to raise more capital. See original press release below. Non binding I know but let's remain positive!
For immediate release 25 May 2022 THE CONYGAR INVESTMENT COMPANY PLC EXCLUSIVITY EXTENDED AT BRISTOL The Conygar Investment Company PLC ("Conygar") announces that it has extended its non-binding exclusivity agreement with Wholesale Fruit Centre (Bristol) Limited regarding the potential acquisition of a 14.7 acres development at the Bristol Fruitmarket Site in the St Philips Marsh area of Bristol, one mile to the east of Bristol Temple Meads. The extension lasts until July the 5th 2022.

Caveat to the above is that they are actively involved in developing an area of Nottingham so funds may be diverted in that direction if the Fruit Market site is not deemed viable.
May 22: The Conygar Investment Company PLC ("Conygar") is pleased to announce that Nottingham City Council has passed a resolution to grant planning for the next phase of The Island Quarter. This phase of the development comprises 247 BTR apartments, 223 hotel rooms, 400 co-working desks as well as a food and beverage provision.
Conygar also raised over 18 million earlier in the year selling one of their development sites in Llanelli. They are definitely significant players in the property market.

Don't let anyone in Cross hands hear you saying their retail park is in Llanelli!

What do you mean diverted? Haven't they already suggested that the money being raised is for the Notts project? Not sure you'd call property developers with one major on going project significant players but at least they have experience of another similar developement, you just have to hope they are not trying to grow too quickly, as if they do start developing the FM that will double probably their property portfolio.

Any new Stadium would be great of course. To me it just doesn’t feel right at the FM.
It has to be be North Bristol, certainly the right side of the river
