A small insight into the ways in which Conygar operate.
This announcement is related to their current largest development plans of the Island Quarter in Nottingham.
Anybody know of any bank that might help with their debt capitalisation proposals?
16 June 2022
THE CONYGAR INVESTMENT COMPANY PLC
Investigation of Debt Capital Options
The Conygar Investment Company PLC (the "Company") announces that the Company is investigating raising debt finance which may be used to provide funding for potential investments that are being considered.
Such debt finance could include a zero dividend preference share, an interest-bearing loan (listed or unlisted) or a term debt facility. Other forms of debt finance may also be contemplated.
The Company may consider raising up to £25 million initially, an amount of which could be utilised to further continue development of The Island Quarter site in Nottingham City Centre.

14.7 acres isn't a massive amount of space to build a stadium plus the other stuff, probably not much bigger than the mem.

All will become apparent over the next few days. If the company do acquire the land I imagine we will need to make our intentions clear pretty quickly, if it's a no there will have to be some concrete mem redevelopment plans in place sharpish.

The UWE plan was around 9 acres including 1,000 space car park, plus two additional 3-acre plots (one either side). Does anyone have the IT skills to superimpose Stadium:MK or similar onto the Fruit Market site to give a perspective?

The site will be a multi-purpose developement so the ground will need to be compact (can't see enough space for a big bowl type stadium - which to me is actually a positive). I suspect parking will be limited if the site is to include retail, housing, hotels etc. Looking forward to the 5th July and if not a goer then at least we can move on.

I’ve pretty much lived in the Double Tree MK Stadium with work.
It’s a fantastic stadium and a perfect model of hotel and football ground, the pitch being below ground for noise reduction outside is great.
For the most part I stay in rooms overlooking the pitch, and are used as boxes on match days.
I would love Wael to do the same. It has to self funding with the corporate revenue.
I’ve always said it MK stadium well done, great business for all concerned.
By the way highly recommend a stay with the Chocolate cookie on arrival 👍

If we ended up with a ground like MK Dons it would be unbelievable. Cracking stadium.

I was offered 2 cheap tickets at half price for EJ yesterday, I just couldn't bring myself to go down there so I turned them down, anywhere else I would have snapped his hand off.

I understand that the development of the FM site could require something in the region of £250 million investment. Assuming Conygar can raise the intial private investment then perhaps others plus Bristol City Council and sale of the Mem would all contribute to 'The Pot'. If the sums don't add up then no doubt we will look elsewhere but expect an announcement soon.

"we will look elsewhere" have you any real proof, apart from the odd Bristol Live article, that we're even looking at the FM site? I assume the £250m figure is just a guess and you've no real idea what's planned for the site nor how much it will cost to build?

Alright, £250m might be an educated guess but let's see what is announced on the 5th. Glass half full mate.

Only half full? 🍺 I'm optimistic something is happening, just not sure on timings. Fingers crossed 🤞
