What advantage is it to your typical present day Gashead to be just minutes from the city centre, especially as it seems to be dying anyway by the looks of the Galleries redevelopment. Not even sure public transport is great if you don't use the train, I can imagine getting from Filton to the FM on a bus is a bit of a nightmare journey. Getting to the Mem from any direction is no walk in the park mind, especially anytime after 1pm. Apart from a 10/15 mins walk to the ground once I've parked, getting to the Mem is a doddle by car. If car parking is restricted around the FM I've no idea how I'll get to the ground. I'll probably have to drive to a railway station, pay for car parking, get a train, then a 15(?) walk to the ground.

If you are looking at Filton as you mentioned in your earlier post, you'll be catching the new M4 metrobus to Parkway, train to TM then a shortish walk.

I’d happily walk from Dorset if it meant the dream of a new stadium became a reality.
As long as it’s still in Bristol and not on the outskirts like so many modern soulless bowls.
C’mon Wael, you know it makes sense….us old farts ain’t getting any younger and what a legacy….

When we do finally get a new stadium do people realise that it is highly likely that the prices of tickets, food and drinks will go up to help pay for it? I for one am happier with the tent arrangements we have at the moment.
Also the argument that we can't progress as a club unless we build a new stadium is rubbish, unless we can double the present capacity as a minimum we won't notice much improvement. A lot of the advantages from a new stadium come from improved training facilities, which we already have.

No revenue gained from training pitches, plenty of opportunities with a modern stadium and faclilities I take your point on the price of tickets and food etc though

Clubs that have other facilities that are used all year round provide a lot of extra money to the budget. Would also bring in more sponsorship money etc. It's not hard to see, that the majority of clubs have spent more and moved up the league, when they have gotten a new stadium.

Would the present poor economic situation effect the developers proposals for the site. The student accommodation proposals for the Mem collapsed when the banking crash lead to a recession we now have another recession looming.

There are plenty of other large scale developments still proceeding in Bristol and the UK as a whole. It was only announced last week the Galleries is going to be bulldozed and rebuilt.

Which clubs have ever benefited from improved training facilities from building a new stadium, surely they are two separate entities? Stand tickets at the Mem are already £35 for Cat A games, I doubt they'll be more expensive at any new stadium. The other issue is if we don't progress then we will eventually decline and end back up in L2 again.

If it's not in our favor, it won't go ahead like Uwe. Pointless building a new stadium, if we continue to lose lots of money
