It was heartening to hear Joey Barton's interview on Radio Bristol. There is no denying Joe's passion for Rovers, and especially encouraging to hear him say he want's a big new stadium for club!! I know, actually having one is oh so difficult. Us Gasheads have to remain optimistic even if a new stadium won't be achievable for many senior fans in their lifetime. Sad but true. This thread try's to keep the "new stadium" dream alive; although, lets be honest as of today there is little chance of a new stadium being built within the next 5 years (hope I am proved wrong). Utg

Oh I get the need for positive news and progress.... And whatever I always support the club. Anyone can see the strides the club has taken in many directions. But that should not stop fans questioning and challenging the position regarding the ground. Owners and leaders must always be open and be prepared to be challenged about aspects of club management, if you try and stop questions being asked to the owners about the ground I would be worried because I would then ask “what is being hidden from us?” Asking questions about the ground is completely legitimate esp after 6 years, given what the owner said in Feb ‘16. To close down that conversation would be wrong. (But that should not stop others who have a different opinion and also giving credit about the positive things that have happened. As I try to do.) As ever eric, it’s probably about the “how” you do something, criticise or be positive, as much as it is about the “what” you do. 👍 UTG! I'm just glad that, after a long period of reluctant silence, several genuine fans on here are voicing their concerns about the lack of news. Still the attempts to intimidate them continue, for some bizarre reason, but the worries being discussed are completely natural and inevitable, except to those who choose to say 'We must wait and be patient and Wael will see us through and all will be revealed. And wait. And wait.' There is no attempt to intimidate anyone here. Intimidation of anyone here is against the rules. Nothing wrong with good debate either, whatever side of the fence you choose to sit.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I’ve always fancied the idea of designing a stadium so rather than vent our collective spleens over the perceived lack of activity, how about we come up with our own theoretical proposals? I need to get to grips with some new software and we could use the exercise to explore the fan base’s wish list of facilities. We could look at a couple of different configurations (straight sided and bowl) and for a range of capacities which I will then drop on a couple of different sites and generate a few visuals that you all crave. Interested? If so, I will start a new thread and get cracking!

I’d love to know why this happened and when they are so close to being fully built. Maybe they know something that others do not, maybe a stadium being built, nearby ? 🤩

And wait. And wait.' Nobody is trying to intimidate or shut down debate. One thing every single fan is agreed on is that we need either a total Mem refurb/rebuild or a brand new stadium at a new location. There is then a divide between those who feel we have a right to regular updates and those who trust Wael is working behind the scenes and we just have to wait for something to be announced. Personally I’m in the ‘trust Wael’ camp and happy to remain patient, that’s not to say I’m not frustrated and like everyone else I hope there is breaking news every morning when I log on. I suspect Wael overstepped the mark in his one and only public comment on the Fruit Market and since it’s part of a bigger project with other parties has been told to remain quiet. I’ve no problem with those that want to keep posing the question (Sam Frost asks the question at every press conference) so I personally don’t think fans asking the same thing will lead to anything new being said. My beef is with those who show no respect to Wael and have referred to him as a fake, a fraud and having an ulterior motive such as planning to build a housing estate at the quarters. If that type of view and aggressive attitude towards the owner grew among the fanbase then Wael may reach the point of cashing in and walking away (Perhaps that is what some fans want?). IMO that could be catastrophic for the future of BRFC.

You don’t think being told to “*uck off and support another club” or “you’re not real supporters, your sh**heads” etc, is not intimidation? Doesn’t particularly worry me, and I don’t think it was aimed at me (may be wrong!) but the tone of the conversation isn’t particularly pleasant. But we post on here knowing what we might get so no worries really. And of course you’re correct about good debate, whatever you feel. Which is what I hope you and I had earlier this week over it. UTG! ps. 3 points tomorrow will give us all something else to talk about.👍

You and many others on here quite fairly and reasonably expect updates and news but manage to express your views in an appropriate fashion. I don’t think anyone has a problem with that even if holding a slightly different view - as I said earlier we all want a stadium and all want positive news but whether we have a right to demand answers is more open to fair debate.

UTG! ps. 3 points tomorrow will give us all something else to talk about.👍 I havent seen that and if I had I would have moderated it. If you do see it, whether you are offended or not, please hit the report button, because all the mods will then see it and can take action straight away, because that isnt right. Which is what I hope you and I had earlier this week over it.We certainly did and I enjoy having a debate with someone who has as much as a vociferous opinion as I do.
