Reffed once at Macclesfield where Chester were playing. They rented there whilst their new ground was being built (just as we were going to do at Cheltenham).Chester were actually in the league at that time but although Macclesfield won the then Conference they were declined joining the Football League as their ground wasn't up to standard even though Chester were allowed to play there for two seasons. Similarly,Kidderminster won it but their ground( now modernised with four fabulous stands) was declined entry to the Football League as their stadium at the time was deemed not up to standard.Think Graham Allner was manager at that time. Wether a relegated club was reprieved I can't recall.

Exactly! It’s only been 40 odd yrs 🙄 We could have yet another problem.i read somewhere recently that a plan has been put forward to the efl that any club promoted to the championship must meet ground and facilities approval.if that happens we have no chance with our tented village Then again that could actually force Wael to do something about the ground.

It’s obvious really…..it’s just waiting for Marvellous Marvin’s new underground system to connect to it and all will be well. Honest Guv….you heard it here first….👍

Steve Lansdown? Probably. After they get relegated this season it will make it easier for them to get back into the championship in the future!

That would be a nice predicament to be in, promoted to the Championship, brilliant.

It's been muted many times in the past.dint forget it has only been I recent years that conference clubs have had to prove their ground was up to league standard.wont surprise me if championship becomes premiership 2 with invited clubs and no promotion and relegation

At the moment a club that is promoted to the Championship has three years to make their stadium all seated, but there aren't that many clubs left who would be in that situation now.

Went to Notts County recently.Do hope they get back into the EFL.All seater stadium there is the business. With the other Bristol team losing at home yet again tonight (and a red card) and all the clubs below them having games in hand-some as many as three- we could well be playing them next season. I'd be happy for us to at least do something with the South Tent but totally given up now.The UWE support group had ideas of Web Cams so we could see the progress of our new stadium being built..Seems a long time ago now.Would be nice to know if there are any plans but in reality at 77,I accept it won't happen for me.I always like to visit new stadiums and many in non-league have really showed that clubs unlike us ,cannot stand still if they are to regain, achieve or retain their league status. I went to Meadow Lane season after it was done watching AFCB. I think the new stands were some kind of Lego pre-fab build. I think they did the new stands all in the summer. It was very quick and I don’t think they even had to play elsewhere. I can remember thinking it did look good. They only thing I didn’t like was the colour, I know they are black and white but it really is a very dark stadium. Seems to be more black than white! UTG!

The stand at what was the open end at Bournemouth is temporary as is the east stand at Bloomfield rd which takes 4600 and the Elton John stand at Watford, so why we have rented tents is beyond me, I suppose it is all about saving money, but like you say modern pre - fab stands can be put up quickly, they can be bespoke and smart.

Remember radio Stoke commentator taking the wet about our ground approx ten years ago when Vale beat us at the Mem.Ex Gas player playing for them (who was assaulted once by a player at Barrow who got sent down) scored a cracker against us.
