They look pretty much the same to me. But no…One of them has a state of the art watering system! You've been in the toilets?

Are we playing spot the difference? They look pretty much the same to me. They clearly took inspiration from our tents?

Just throwing it out there, Fruit Market won't happen. We'll find somewhere else.

No stadium in my lifetime - resigned to it now Kind of how i feel. We’re we to get a site then we would have to get PP and the rest so i am guessing at least 5 years IF we did get the news that a new place was in the pipeline. To be honest i would rather be at the mem that at the St.Philips site but that is down to each. As rough as the old girl is, it’s still home and i think we would only have to worry about this if we did get promotion. Whether i like it or not, the other lot always had around 3-4K more than us, when we were in the same division and in a ground that could have had many more in it.

Does anyone actually think we’ll get any sort of official update from the club anytime soon? How long has it been now since Wael briefly mentioned the FM site?

Or from Conyger Investments, as surely at some point they'll have to admit the project to buy the FM site and develop the area is dead, or they are proceeding with the purchase?

How about if we hear nothing from the club regarding a new stadium by january 1st 2023 then we should all come to the conclusion the Fruit market or any other site is not happening at all. There is no new stadium.
Then all focus and pressure the club to upgrade the mem as no new stadium is happening.

If Wael has already investigated the viability of a complete refurb of the Mem and concluded that it would not work (large capital outlay and not enough revenue stream to make us profitable) then I can’t see any amount of fan pressure will make him change his mind. Why would he if it just creates more debt which he is then expected to personally cover. I’d imagine he’ll still be looking at a new stadium at a new site, FM if it’s still possible or elsewhere if not. The alternative would be to sell up and walk away. My guess is the Mem refurb is the least likely of these three outcomes.

Wael if we get promoted to the championship we would have three years to build a new stadium or make the Mem all seater , so if we have no new stadium Wael will have to spend money on the Mem or face owning the first club ever to be kicked out of the Championship for a sub standard stadium that would surely be to embarrassing for him. The thing is even with a new stadium there is no guarantee the club will be any better off regards balancing the books. Just look at Derby, Wigan, Bolton and our neighbours from the dark side.

A new and bigger ground will obviously bring in more matchday revenue but it seems just as big a factor that we need a ground that can create significant non matchday revenue too. We are told the Mem won’t allow us to do that and we’d also have the problem of where we go for two seasons while it’s rebuilt, a period in which our revenue would fall even further. The proposed UWE stadium would have been multi functional and kept busy all week but from what I’ve heard the uni were too greedy in what slice of that pie they’d retain. Btw has the EFL actually said it must be all seater in the championship by a certain date or is that just rumour? Anyway, it will all be academic if my euromillion numbers come up tonight. You’ll all be sat in The Eric Stadium, Filton Avenue in two years time😁🙏

There may be some wiggle room if work is underway but wont be completed on time. That wiggle room might be the ability to stay championship but all terrace areas to be closed.

I find it hard to believe posters are now seriously worried about what will happen if we get promoted and stay in the Championship for 3 years when we've spent most of our recent history in league 1 and below, and even this season still seem way behind the top 3 L1 sides.

You have to think positive Topper, can't imagine JB thinks like that.

And considering a push a for safe standing, surely if we hold on just a little bit longer the Mem WILL be fit for purpose (should we get promoted and stay in the Championship for 8 years etc etc)

The ONLY thing that stops me totally giving up hope on the Fruit Market is that Wael has not said it is dead. I like to think he wouldn't just sweep it under the carpet and say nothing, but instead would issue a statement. (Tried hard, negotiations not productive, not in the best interests of the club, couldn't get FM owners to sell.....etc etc).
I refuse to believe it's gone and Wael just hasn't told the fans. Unless that actually turns out to be the truth.
