4 or 5 new Posters in the last 24 hours, anyone else find this a bit odd? It's probably just dawned on another 5 fans that we play in one of the worst stadiums in the league and the embarrassment has become too much for them So what about the other 8995 that have turned up week in week for the last 10 years? That dawned on them as well but but can't be arsed to comment on their embarrassment?

You're probably about right, as Rovers fans we're so used to playing in a dump most can't be arsed to object anymore

4 or 5 new Posters in the last 24 hours, anyone else find this a bit odd? I assume one of those is me ? , we’ll the last time I posted I got accused of being a ted , though I did explain living in Grantham I’d be more likely to be forest / county / Lincoln / p/ bro or even a Grantham town fan than a ted Anyway I’ve stayed away for a while & I hoped as you’ve all got older you’d of mellowed , it seems not Thankfully you still seem a friendly bunch to us midlands exiles ( or me at least ) when I attend the mem or a local Lincoln / p/ bro etc match

It was an observation. But why would it be a observation , all I’ve said is it just makes me wonder how a club from a small town can build a new ground ( to be honest I didn’t look that hard so it maybe a redevelopment ) & we can’t afford to do anything of any real note , what in that statement would make you suspicious of me / my motives Surely as a rovers fan of 61 yrs I’m allowed to have my thoughts on the situation , I live apx 30 miles from forest / county / Mansfield / Lincoln / p/ bro & other than forest I struggle to see any of the other sides being bigger yet they’ve all got better grounds Maybe I’ve answered my own question , I don’t live in Bristol , I only visit on match day so other than reading this forum I don’t get to understand the local issues related to a redevelopment of the mem , or a new stadium Anyway hopefully one day

Find it interesting when people pop on here and say club xyz have started work on a new stadium.
Each club, each city is different and there are different challenges wherever you go.
Land is expensive around here, scarce in the locale of the city, and it can be difficult to generate plans that work. Yes you could probably build something out near Avonmouth but driving places is not the future and who wants to be going out that way anyway.
Plenty of clubs like the real Wimbledon, Luton, York, Brentford who whilst may have got their stadium had a long journey on the way to getting it.
If we get one it isn’t going to be planned overnight and it certainly won’t be built either.
There is absolutely nothing us as fans can do other than wait and see what comes from the club. Kicking and screaming, criticising or even praising the ownership and management, none of it will get us a stadium any sooner.

4 or 5 new Posters in the last 24 hours, anyone else find this a bit odd? No, not in the slightest. League 1 side loses yet again to a non-league side in a ground reminiscent of a dodgy village fete. The embarrassment compounded with being first match on MOTD. So, not odd that other rivals may wish to rub it in. Neither is it odd that disgruntled and embarrassed fans find a voice and wish to vent their frustration. Nor is it odd that fans start noticing the scales falling away and question other issues below the surface like the worst ground in the league, no discernible progress on a new ground with a veil of secrecy that only seems to apply to Rovers developments, complete lack of planning on match days to ensure people can buy a drink and a bit of grub if they wish, reducing the capacity when they could sell all the tickets this year, etc., etc., etc. What is odd is blindly accepting and defending all of this season after season, year after year. But hey everybody can have an opinion.

The thing is most if not all of the clubs you mentioned have identified the need and built their stadiums while we have waited and are still waiting. While I agree it’s beyond our control you can’t blame fans for being frustrated with the situation.

But having a pop at the club over it doesn’t change the situation whatsoever

Maybe once Wael is back from touring Qatar, for research purposes of seeing more grounds, he will get the club to crack on with planning the build of a ground we so desperately need.
Getting bit disillusioned with it really. If we have no ambition of being more than bottom half league 1 club at best then fair enough.

How do you know it was a feasible opportunity? Issues with the unrealistic UWE demands on the non matchday revenue streams as far as I recall. Not sure a future as a tier 2-3 club could have been guaranteed if we were getting too small a share of total revenues. Everyone knows a football club wants lecture halls, a jogging track, uni bar, uni gym and to give away naming rights🤣. The uni were not interested in any of that stuff. The plans were basically a uni building with a football pitch in the middle. Those that don't like Wael make out it was a great deal for the club, they say where is your proof that it wasn't a good deal etc. Anyone that could read the plans and listened to the interviews could see that uwe were getting the better end of the deal. If it was good for the club, the club would have been worth more, if they sold it anyway. Don't get their logic, that it was great for the club, but not for the owners. How do you know all this was the case? If it was why did it take Wael so long to walk away from a deal which was so bad for the club? Who knows, perhaps it was the other way around and Wael wanted more out of the deal than the UWE were prepared to give, as it's odd the land is still not developed and so not generating a penny for the UWE.

It was in the plans and the uni said they would get to use the car park on non match days. They spoke about how they needed the parking. They said they had naming rights. The jogging track, lecture hall, uni bar, uni gym etc were all in the plans. Was all that for us or is uwe?? Maybe Wael thought they would compromise on the plans. Think many have selective memory, or didn't bother looking at the plans, as they were desperate for a stadium.
