It was probably busy by the time you turned up and plastic glasses are the norm in the Ground. Things have changed in the last 20 years. Our stadium hasn't. Pitch has, bar has, shop has, entertainment in the Fans Zone has, hospitality has.

Wouldn’t be disappointed in this. Probably trying not to let the cat out of the bag more than anything I expect.

The interesting part contained in the documents -
Leisure / Mixed Use Scenario 2 identifies land associated with the Bristol Fruit Market site as an opportunity for a large scale, mixed- use leisure destination, potentially including a new leisure and sporting facility and associated facilities. This could potentially include reconfiguration of the market to create a more visitor focused attraction including fresh food / street food markets, entertainment and education. The large scale nature of these uses would require substantial land acquisition and realignment of Albert Road.

So basically BCC are now confirming what we've known since this thread started, they've identified land for a stadium and it's up to the club to find funding to build it, unfortunately we seem to have made no progress in that regard.

Pretty certain that if our owner has secured rights to build here and arranged funding absolutely no one will know until it’s signed/sealed.
Sometimes no news can be good news.

Agreed formally <> no progress Not even necessarily that nothing has been agreed. It’s not like handshaking on buying a used car. These things involve long lengthy contracts and get out clauses if certain criteria aren’t met. It’s buying a house on acid. For all we know we could be waiting on something to complete the deal and announce it and all could be perfectly well.

I thought funding wasn’t a problem as when news broke in 2019 about the project it was going to developed in the following way. Bristol Live understands that should the deal go through, Rovers will be invited to be a partner in the project with the developer. No commitments have been made by the club in advance, but should they join the project and a stadium be built, Rovers would sign a long-term lease with a minimal yearly financial obligation. In return, it is understood the Memorial Stadium in Horfield would be transferred to Conygar for housing development.

That always sounded to good to be true, what did Conyger gain from that deal and do they really want the hassle of developing two completely different sites in Bristol.

Could be Crazy Golf, swings and a slider Am I the only one that once going outside of Bristol was shocked to find that everywhere else in the country it’s a “slide” and we are the only ones to put an R on the end? A bit like saying you are “smoothing” a pet, which also gets you a look as people think you are going to flatten it instead of stroke it 🤣

Think I've mentioned it before, somewhere, and using some rough maths, for me to park at Bristol Parkway costs £4 for the day. Without Cup Games that's 23 home games costing £92. Train costs from Parkway to Temple Meads, and back, £8.80, 23 games, that's £202. So to get to the FM, and back, by train, that's pretty much £300, every season, on top of a Season Ticket. So unless I can drive to the Ground, park up for free, like I can do now, I won't be going.
