At long last this thread can be closed, at tonight's AGM Wael when asked the question from the floor announced a new stadium wouldn't happen for at least another 5 or 7 years but didn't mention even if it were to happen the Fruit Market. That’s another 100+ pages added to this thread, thanks mate.

It would be nice if Wael could be quizzed about this vitally important matter by Geoff 20man and/or someone else in the local media could actually do their job and ask some serious questions instead of being a sycophant and club mouthpiece.

Is that an estimate to start or completion? When probed further, Wael did reveal he hoped to get an artist's impression of the new stadium on tbe front of the Evening Post within the 7 year deadline.

7 more years of nonsense and silence to placate the fans. Rinse repeat ad infinitum. Mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed on sh**.

Pointless getting into the Championship then, even if we make it and stay there we'll be relegated after 3 years due to a not fit for purpose Stadium.

Whatever future stadium is in fantasy land playing at the mem at one stage in the next 7 or 8 years will be taken out of our hands unless there are some improvements to it.

With the continued expansion of the "clean Air Zone" (Stealth tax) and the recently identified high pollution on Gloucester Road, would building a new stadium on the mem not be viable if people have to pay £9, soon to be £12 to use their car ?
i know people would say public transport etc etc etc but the current state of our bus service would put many people off and waiting for fantasy £4 Billon underground to be built is not an option

Wael has been stringing us along on the stadium hunt for too long. It's time Barton, the only man who tells it as it is was asked the question. It would be interesting to hear Joeys response to the question of promotion and the fact we would only be allowed to stay there 3 years maximum due to our facilities, with our owner saying were looking at 7 years for an upgrade.
Bearing in mind over 3 years ago now he said we are looking at stadium locations including the fruit market so that 7 years will probably be about 12 if at all.
Pathetic.

Well these timescales line up with the FM plan. New stadium by 2030-35 if we are lucky. So. Next tell us the plan for the mem for the next 7 to 12 seasons!!

Just like this. therin lies the problem. If only the negative is reported then it becomes the narrative. The silence from the club is the problem. The board need to say anything or something to start appeasing a fan base which is rapidly moving to it will never happen in my lifetime.

I'm of the opinion that Wael might not be able to do it by himself. Otherwise it would have happened already. He has done great bringing us forward re the training ground and how the club is run with TG. But we MUST sort the stadium out.

I don't think he'll do it on his own either, but I'd imagine with his network he'd have no problem finding investors. The problem is permission and where to build the damned thing.
