I have seen proof of mails, texts etc, it looked like it was going to happen. It was two supporters, one wealthy, that were asked to be involved. One is on here but now chooses not to post, no NDA but the deal came to a halt after Wael asked two people to give it a good look and they said not viable. Another club, not football, will be there but i have been asked not to divulge this as it could hamper progress. You can chose to believe me or not but, unless the guy made up the email addresses and other then it was very real as a good prospect. Tin hat now firmly on , waiting for you know who to write and me not read. How are you getting to read emails and texts regarding any of this? That's what I'd like to know as well. Istm that an agenda is gradually being built up that Wael is the road block to the club making progress on the stadium issue, with very little evidence given that it is actually true.

And at times this place is full of the same bs. The other place is fine, just a tad more independent, like it’s name. Why the need to attack other gas because they, like me, post on there? You don’t need to be insecure, people are allowed different opinions.😉 UTG! (Wherever you are) Well said. The vitriol on here sometimes is ridiculous. Especially from former users

This place is just as independent from the club as the other forum. Gaschat was created only because users on the old Official forum were not made welcome on the old independent forum when it was closed. The snobbery and bitterness aimed at many of the early migrating users led to the formation of this forum. We were disliked before we were even given a chance. Myself and the other early creators of this forum all wanted the original merge to work and some of us still feel a sadness that this place was ever necessary. I understand as i felt it was cliquey at first but i persisted and was glad of it, still am. We are all rovers supporters and i hope we want the club to succeed. I thought it was ras who started this place >

The likes of Fanboy, Russ, Ivotedforkudos, Roverdrive and Tilly, to name but a few, all had a lot of input in setting up the forums various sections and setting the tone of the place as well as the many hours of moderating and bumping threads and keeping the forum alive.

I don’t want this place to be known as a happy clappy Wael supporters club, that if you should have any differing opinion you should go elsewhere ect. The forum is here in some respects as a platform of critical thinking and as a platform to share concerns with others. However this forum also exists as a platform of debate and as a general rule of debate you provide your reasoning behind your stated beliefs and opinions when asked to. That’s where we’ve had problems, with people lobbing grenades then vanishing when they are called to provide their motivation for taking such a critical view of the current ownership. If Swiss or any other person of anti-Wael disposition want to register for here and have a reasoned conversation about the ownership and the future of the club then I’d welcome it. I don't think this is a particularly welcoming place to anyone who holds a an opinion counter to the positive masses. One of the reasons I stopped posting was because I felt hounded out because I do not support our current manager. I know others left or post less for the same reason and I noticed following promotion last season some on here still could not resist having a pop at anyone who does not support Barton.

Wasn't LG suggested by some random supporter who didn't seemed to have any financial backing behind him but hoped to get backing if the club showed any interest in the site? TBH I can't think of anything worse than a Shrewsbury/Oxford type location for a ground just stuck in the middle of nowhere. I have seen proof of mails, texts etc, it looked like it was going to happen. It was two supporters, one wealthy, that were asked to be involved. One is on here but now chooses not to post, no NDA but the deal came to a halt after Wael asked two people to give it a good look and they said not viable. You can chose to believe me or not but, unless the guy made up the email addresses and other then it was very real as a good prospect. Tin hat now firmly on , waiting for you know who to write and me not read. So if it wasn't viable, was it not better to leave it?? You would have to hope, that they were comparing it to other options and something else, was more viable, whether that be the fruit market, or something else all together!! I've said in the past that I don't want needles updates and that I would rather they waited, until there was something concrete to say, one way or another. However with all the rumors, squabbling etc, I think we do need some kinda update. Even if it is, just to say Wael is still committed and looking into options. The Uwe and Sainsburys was all planned on secret and nothing was leaked. So they could still be working on the fruit market, or something else. They only thing for certain, is that Wael won't want to write off high debts, every few years. So he will have to have some kinda plan to break even. Don't think Barton would stay, if he didn't have some kind of guarantee and we did back him during the summer and start the training ground before that. Would we be doing that, if Wael wanted out??

The other forum would have hounded you out if you'd supported JB!
I guess any forum viewpoint is the one supported by the majority of posters. I was one of the few who stuck by JB (mainly because I didn't trust Wael to employ anybody any better!) when other posters were calling for him to be dismissed following our relegation.

Not sure of that but can say that talk sent from extremely positive to an end of not viable and no interest. As i say, i am ok if you do not believe me as i have grown to expect this. I know nothing of Wael being a road block

I agree but, given there was no option at that time, i persisted and i miss those grumpy buggers, i managed to meet a few and they were so very different in the flesh. We all get frustrated and this is a place to vent that, not many use any forum anyway so i don’t think it makes a difference to the club, not in the wider sense

How are you getting to read emails and texts regarding any of this? By meeting people. Some are happy to meet up As I posted earlier wasn't this the fans who had a plan but no actual financial backing? It's a bit like one of suggesting a stadium could be built at Filton airfield but having no idea how to finance it, then suggesting Wael had snubbed a perfectly feasible suggestion for a new stadium. Although I'm not sure the club can be criticised if they looked at the plans before dismissing them as not viable, rather than just dismissing, or ignoring them, without even considering them? You're another poster who tends to see no good in Wael, you're probably one of the few posters supporting Swissgas' post on the other forum. Who do you expect will come in and do a better job? Swindon's new owner was apparently the new Messiah but he's hardly making great progress.

You should be on both. Balanced view and all that! I don't want to be on this one, let alone another! Having avoided this site completely for years, after the way many on the other site described it, I starting reading it and then registered as it has far more balance and breadth of opinion than the other one. It's also far less pompous and much funnier. Stick around now you're back, Mr Elder. UTFG 🏴☠️

It was a totally different and more sports oriented group who now have the land. As for anti Wael, i can see why you would think that but we have gone from the stadium will be built and finance not an issue to literally no news at all. He is a financial banker so will know that losing 3 million pa is not viable and surely it can’t go on forever and , even though i do not have kids, i hope that we do, four future generations. Our entire future is in one persons hands, i find that worrying. If we are winning then no one seems to mention anything so maybe best to just keep winning games and we won’t get into this stuff eh lol.
