Every win is a great win if your a gashead It’s a rare old treat at the moment! yes I am a gashead since 1980 and a win is a win but we only just beat a poor side that was down to 9 men, I am worried for Saturday and the rest of the season, it was a win but in my opinion definitely not great.

I actually feel for him. He's too far gone now at the Gas, his confidence won't recover at this point. I think he can still go onto score goals in his career but he has to go down a level or two before he can recapture the confidence needed to do that. Yes. That sort of phrase gets bandied about a lot and on the surface it's possibly true. People do sometimes need a change and can do ok at a lower level / different job. But hold on...it's such a bizarre idea when actually scrutinised. Going down a level or more, to score goals against easier oppo, which is then taken as proof a player can go back up a level or two, and score against better oppo. It's illogical. P.s. not having a go at you. I just find the return principle bizarre. Agree he (& others) may score more at a lower level / with different players around him. BUT that doesn't necessarily make him a player to return to lge 1. I agree but to clarify I didn't mean for him to go out on loan and then come back. I think he needs to leave permanently and get this club and his ill fated spell here out of his system.

Sending off was weird. Istm 22 and 28 went in for JCH in the first half, and 28 fouled him, but 22 got booked wrongly. Then 22 fouled Leahy in the second half and got a second yellow, but complained that he hadn't been booked in the first half and it should have been 28. So the ref agreed and sent 28 off instead, but surely they should have been on a yellow each. Or did I just make all that up. I didn't really see the second half incident, but got the impression the ref wafted his card vaguely towards the wrong man in the first. Watching on ifollow it looked as though number 28 who fouled Leahy was the player that fouled JCH before number 22 actually took him down. Number 22 pulled him down on the edge of the box where 28 fouled him before that nearer the touch line where the free kick was taken from. The card was shown to 28

Just watched the vid, looks like I had it all wrong.

Whilst I understand the various areas of frustration, the ultimate point is a win is a win and 3 points added.

I hope we don’t finish off this thread about Tom Nicholls cos everyone who knows me knows what I think of TN. I posted last Saturday that we should play 352 with the squad I don’t want to be the one to say i told you do but.....I told you so 😁 . And well done Alfie Kilgour mature head on young shoulders. Until he makes an error and fans on this forum will say why is GC playing him. Well done Rovers great win now onto the Oxford game .

Sorry Gas, that was very poor, we even looked out of ideas against 9 players.
I just don't see what GC can do, I don't think he has a plan b, but like we all know he needs wide players.
We are predictable and unable to really cause teams that much trouble at all..
3 points yes, but we were poor.

As much as I think in the long run we would be better off with some short term pain to make GC’s position untenable, to be fair to him we might have only beaten one of the few teams under us but we have also failed to beat 3 teams who are in the top 6. So arguably we have had possibly the worst 3 fixtures we could have hoped for to start the campaign with. I’m interested to see us play the teams in mid-table as that should give us a better indication of where our squad and manager are in terms of ability.

And surely Wycombe on 8 points so far shows that you can assemble a reasonable side on a shoestring. They can’t have spent much more than we have surely?

Nichols one on one....... misses Didn’t miss to be fair hit it low and hard good save goalkeeper. Can’t score for us though can he. Play him in midfield we’re crying out for a creative player with good close control and an eye for a pass in midfield.

Nichols one on one....... misses Will he ever get an easier chance to score this season? Keeper did well to be fair.

Brutal. His timing was so off for slipping it under the keeper. I actually feel for him. He's too far gone now at the Gas, his confidence won't recover at this point. I think he can still go onto score goals in his career but he has to go down a level or two before he can recapture the confidence needed to do that. Stick him in a midfield 3 at the top end. JCH fed off him last season. We wouldn’t have stayed up without their link.

Wycombe have got new American owners so could have spent a bit this summer on new players, whilst we're still stuck with the likes of Bennett, Nichols and Rodman on our wage bill. Imagine if we could have offloaded them this summer and got in similar players as JCH and Smith as replacements.

Needed that! We can all stop moaning and pay the deposit on the open top bus now. First half was encouraging, second was a tad painful, but always is vs 10 or 9 men. But a good win. Hare looking good, my MOTM. #UTG

Let’s not look at teams after 4 games and say ‘why can’t we do that’
Everyone said that about Bury and look.
Last season everyone said that about Accrington after 8 games and they nearly went down in the end.

He will come good. There is a good player in there. Hes unlucky. Hes played out of position. We are not playing to his strengths. It's all about poor service. No he won't. No there isn't. He's sh*t. He can't play anywhere. He doesn't have any. It's all about him not being good enough to be a League 1 football player. Feck off. Abit harsh, but 100% true.
