Why were we frisked today, was it in case we were hiding a snake, if so, the elderly gentleman in front of me fooled them, he had a walking stick which which could have been one of those magicians canes that turn into a snake.

Biggest load of inaccurate rubbish I've read on here, which is saying a lot...especially this week. And the inaccuracies are? According to Geoff Dunford? According to Ollie, the conversation was about the board's refusal to back him, following which the manager understandably felt he didn't have the support he needed and said back me or sack me. So they sacked him. Not quite the same as leaving to further his career. Anyway, what's wrong with that? He left to go to the Premier League on one of those occasions! Seems reasonable to me. Every player should look to play at the best level they can. None of the above makes him less of a Gashead. So he didn't let us have Jermain. Fair enough again. He was employed by Millwall to do the best for them. As a professional, that's what he did. Quite right too and again, it doesn't mean he's not a Rovers fan. I think people expect footballers to behave like fans. They can't. They have to do the best for themselves and for their employers. When employed by the media, they have to be neutral. Whether he is still management material is up for debate, but he is most definitely a Gashead through and through.

Biggest load of inaccurate rubbish I've read on here, which is saying a lot...especially this week. And the inaccuracies are? What is wrong with being a Bristolian with a Bristolian accent ? Gerry brought Ollie back to BRFC and he was significantly important in what was achieved in 1990, Ollie helped create BRFC history. When he was Manager he took BRFC to the top of the division 1; how many other managers have achieved that since ? Lambert arrived at rovers slow and over weight, he could not wait to leave Rovers for Southampton, in my memory, other than attending a Tote End reunion, Ricky has rarely been back to Bristol since he left. How you can compare any player since 1986 with Ollie’s loyalty to BRFC is beyond me. Personally l would welcome another Bristolian to be manager of BRFC and if it’s Ollie happy days. l do not understand how any BRFC supporter gets off critising Ollie, someone who IMO was the best creative centre midfield player the club has had in the past 40+ years, Boris would never have scored 50 goals from right wing without the service he received from lan.

Looking forward to this one on Satuday. It looks as though we have found a formation to suit us. However I think oxford will have a good season after some of the signings they have made. Also the snake is bound to score. I seem to remember us targeting Dickie in the away fixture last year and Jakubiak got a lot of joy out of him. I can't remember what sort of defender he is, but could be a target again. Think we will lose, I'll go 1-2. gaschat.co.uk/thread/9095/official-matty-taylor-joins-city?page=47*** BUMP *** - Hope you didn't lose too much money on him

Thought if I wrote it, then hoping it would put the mockers on, and it did! That said, I did think he would prob score. Pleasantly surprised by us today and disappointed with Oxford.

Listening to the radio and reading this forum, I've concluded I saw a different game. I thought Oxford were the superior side, going down our right side with ease, and dominating the midfield. Fortunately they didnt take there chances and today we did. Our centre backs look great, jch is getting back to full fitness, hare has a great cross from both feet. But both hare and leahy are exposed easily and I thought Clarke and ogogo were poor. I'm impressed that you got all that without watching the game. Those of us that did maybe saw things differently.

Oxford were a pretty side knocked it around well fell over a lot I don’t think they bothered us that much and when they were on top I think we coped well. At the end of the day all the possession counts for nothing if you don’t take your chances The GAS were clinical and fully deserved the points 👍

Yep, his ramblings appear to be a bit out of control lately. I thought they had ghost writers to make these things read slightly more coherently, but they appear to have left Ollie free with his keyboard to type whatever he likes. He should join Gaschat. I has. Orlroight me ole babber? Ow bist eee today?

So you agree Holloway has a Bristolian accent. I think you'll find I said I admired Hollways midfield performances over 3 playing stints. I never made any comment on his managerial success other than to say he asked to be fired, which someone else has confirmed, and within days he was manager at QPR. Coincidence? Only if you still believe in the Tooth Fairy and Santa. Lambert arrived and and had been injured and so had not had a pre-season. Trollope took him out the side and gave him a pre-season to get him up to speed. We all know what happened then. I think you're being inaccurate that he couldn't wait to leave, and I doubt many others would agree with you, either. So whist I think you're being inaccurate based on the evidence, I don't agree with you, which is a different thing entirely. I don't really understand why only attending 1 re-Union is proof that he isn't a Gas legend anymore than the fact that he rushed to sign for West Brom so he could play,at ours in a pre-season friendly, or that he didn't celebrate when he scored against us for Saints proves he is. I don't care what area of the country or indeed any country any future manager comes from as long as they bring us success. In my opinion that would never be Holloway. In any case, I think we ought to give the present bloke a fair crack, don't you agree? as for your final paragraph, nothing inaccurate identified in anything I've written, it's just that we have different opinions. To summarise then, I haven't made any inaccurate statements, I believe they were accurate. If you choose to disagree with my comments then fine, that's what a forum is for.
