The Longstaff brothers' dad played ice hockey and had a couple of seasons in the Swedish ice hockey premier league. There's something ice hockey-ish about them in the direct way they play their football, especially that goal.

Remember united coming down to L2 and loved the brand of football they played then in rebuilding. No team is too good to come down as Man City found - play crap for long enough you get relegated- Conference anyone ?

Well as you say the defence & GK are very good. The midfield of Fred, Pogba, Mata, Matic is much too strong in comparison to probably Burnley, West Ham, Bournemouth, Sheffield Utd, Brighton, Villa, Newcastle, Southampton, Everton, Norwich, Watford & Palace IMO. The strike force is the real problem. I like Rashford a lot, he's one of the most naturally talented strikers I've seen. However he's young and upfront alone with dreadful tactics and no service. Newcastle...ahem...West Ham...ahem... If these midfielders are so good then how is Rashford not getting no service? Fred has been a disastrous signing a d offers little. Matic and Mata are too slow and a shadow of what they were. Pogba for all his ability andthe good things he does, gives the ball away far too cheaply and often and doesn't seem to have the right attitude. Ironically, the midfielder that I would say has impressed me most when I have seen Utd is McTominay. What so because West Ham & Newcastle won 1 game against Utd each, they therefore have the superior team? Sure, on that logic are we still better than Southampton? Were we better than Premier League Derby at the time? How are they not getting service? Because the tactics are sh*t. What do you think happens, if good players go out with no tactics and training, they'll naturally just win the game because they're better? If that's the case, why even have managers? Let's save on money and just get better players. How was it that that our squad was rubbish under DC at the end but good under GC? It's the tactics, I think this is a pretty basic question in football tbh. Rashford is also by himself up front and he is not a striker who should play upfront by himself. Matic & Mata aren't what they used to be, of course. But they're certainly better than most PL midfielders IMO. Fred has been poor for them it's true, but he is a decent player. Ole is doing a sh*t job, the squad overall is poor compared to the top 6 teams, but no where near bad enough to get relegated IMO. As soon as a new manager will come in, I believe that point will bet proven.

They won’t go down. They won’t be in the top four. Just another club waiting for the end of the season, thinking they’ll do better next time. The PL is just a bore fest of clubs, some who think they have an entitlement to be champions, the rest are just counting up to 38 points and relax when they think they’re nearly there. Little ambition, they don’t even take the cups seriously. I struggle to see the footballing point of the PL. I get it that it is a money-making project but it’s impact goes little further than the 20 clubs and those with parachute payments which only take away from the other Championship league clubs. And even the money goes out of the league and goes to individuals, ask Bury about that. So to answer the question, no they won’t but I don’t really care either way. UTG!

I do think a new manager would probably get them into 7th as it seems Leicester may have replaced Utd in the top 6 now, although there is a long way to go. Personally I find the whole thing hilarious and I'm extremely happy this is happening to them. I don't sympathise with Utd fans in the slightest. If they went down, I reckon I'd probably go to Liverpool for the weekend just to join the party tbh

Can’t say I’m bothered either way, although if they did & we went up, would we have to close the South Stand to let more of ‘them’ attend?

Persisting with the likes of Ashley Young could well lead to relegation. Takes all their corners/freekicks etc and has not got a decent one in him from what I saw last night and previously this season. I don't think they will be relegated but OS is hardly pulling up trees as their manager, looked totally lost on the touchline yesterday and it would appear he exhausted the new manager bounce when he achieved 8/9 away wins on the bounce last season and has now gone 10 without a win since. Their fans thought HM was a poor manager, I wonder what they are thinking now.

Loved the Man Utd of old, always my second team, loved watching them on tv win the European cup in 68. Been to Old Trafford a few times back in the day stood on the Stretford end. Now i couldn't give a toss about anything Premier League and hardly even watch MOTD anymore.

They could but Manor Farm are cut adrift at the bottom already and with only one relegation place this season they should be alright.

Their fans thought HM was a poor manager, I wonder what they are thinking now. I think Ashley Young is only getting a game because Luke Shaw and Wan Bissaka are injured. Defensively they have a bit of strength in depth so Young would probably be well down the pecking order when everyone is fit. It’s attacking areas where they are completely awful and needs a lot of fresh faces. long may their demise continue. Their arrogant fans deserve it after their years of ungracious success.

Now i couldn't give a toss about anything Premier League and hardly even watch MOTD anymore. My second team too, as my Dad and Grandad were both supporters and Gas Heads. Fond memories of the Mem, Wembley and the Millennium with them both growing up. I think its nice to have a team to follow in Europe as I've seen us on TV once or maybe twice? And then there's the fond memories, at home or the pub with my mates, or again, at home with my Dad and my Gramp having a cheeky glass of cider and watching all the season the treble! I don't know anyone who doesn't follow a second team tbh, apart from perhaps premiership locals themselves. I must say the past few seasons I haven't been following United as much, and haven't really thought of that decline in interest until now. It is a shame where they are, and as a fan I blame Moyes and Van Gaal were the wrong appointments and have set us on this trajectory. I've had more time to follow us and that's not a bad thing. UTG!
