It's funny you should say that ......... as all Bristol's MPs are from The Labour Party.

The 5% of Premier League revenue to be spent on Grassroots football pledge is a really good one. There’s plenty of money to go around, it really shouldn’t be that average centre backs like Harry Maguire go for £80m but facilities for local sides across the country are lacking.

Looks like the usual please all claims that political parties put out. Paid for by the bottomless pot of gold.

Hard not to keep politics out of this, especially if your view is in favour of a smaller government.
Personally I’d like my government to focus on running the country and vital public services (where appropriate) and leave businesses and organisations to operate as they please so long as they do so in an appropriate moral and legal way. Campaigning and encouraging is fair enough but leave the legislative stick in the drawer.
If we don’t like how football is run it’s up to supporters and clubs to give the governing body a good kick up the arse. How organisations like FIFA and the FA keep getting away with it is beyond me.

Not sure how that will work especially at lower league clubs where it is often directors and their cash keeping clubs afloat.
I mean if you rewound a few years, who do you sack? Geoff? Boycie? Ed Ware? Chris Jelf etc? and how do you replace any of their money or indeed pay back their loans

Agree entirely. This is just another crack pot Labour idea. Almost like nationalising football.

Yeah, they'll probably insist on a representative from the IRA and Hezbollah on each board, in between McDonnell lynching various female Tory MP's. I could probably manage to lend a hand with Esther McVey!

They promised to abolish tuition fees and pay back any that had been paid during the past 3 years (Quoted by the Germ himself at Glastonbury). Heard nothing since. Perhaps its because he has found out how much it would cost. Students from abroad, who have already passed their degrees owe £80 million.
Meanwhile I cannot see the owners of teams in the Premier league listening to the fans or anyone else. Why would they? and with the ridiculous fees and wages they pay I doubt that they would want to spend money on anything but their own club

Didn't we have two supporters club members on the board when NH was in charge, that ended with us being relegated to the Conference and almost going into Admin, not sure it's a recipe for success.

Corbyn couldn't run a beer up in a brewery let alone the country. If he had any confidence in his ability to win votes and be a half decent pm he would take up the challenge of a general election.
He is a complete surrender monkey who is too scared to actually stand up and be counted. He can’t even decide what side of the brexit fence to sit on whilst his own front bench mp’s are backing remain.
Zero leadership, zero clue and zero Hope should he ever get near number 10.
So he can leave the football alone as well.

We had a general election in 2015 and another in 2017. The maths tells us the 'toffs' lost 42 mp's still counting. And who can trust the 'liar ' who even kenneth clark described as ' The only man who can lie and keep a straight face' . The Tories backed by the top 5% have caused more divisions in this country than anybody but at the same time increased their own wealth. Coming from the inner city I can recall the poll tax and depression of the 1980's. Shocking party ...
