We could have been out of sight if we put our chances away.

Stunned when I heard that. I assumed he was a 12 toe-er from south Bristol but Geoff said he’s definitely a Gashead. Perhaps we should allow The Colony land to go back to being an asylum if we are not going to make use of it. |

Another hard fought victory which could & probably should have been more comfortable. I never really felt MK caused us any real problems a lot of pretty passing 30 yards from our goal but once again we defended well. JVS although he didn't have to make any saves looked confident coming for crosses.
Considering the players missing & the ones we lost during the game a fantastic result. Onwards & upwards

I love a good joke myself but using a child rapist to get a laugh on an Internet forum is poor form. He used a catchphrase that’s all. If there was a joke being made about his crimes and activities than I agree it would be totally out of order and in bad taste. I maintain there are too many people who go out of their way to be offended. Anyway, no point turning this into a long debate unless someone wants to create a thread elsewhere so I’ll say no more. A convincing win today, we remain unbeaten at home, five wins in a row(?) and up to 4th in the table. That’s the story of this thread. |

But as a dad of 2 young kids, 5 & 1, laughing in the same breath as someone like Saville just isn't my prerogative...

Back on the topic of today’s match, I thought it was a good shift that the team put in today. We created the better chances and played some good football. MK Dons weren’t great but you can only beat what’s in front of you and in truth it was a more than deserved win.
What a signing Tom Davies has been, absolutely nothing gets passed him, he played some good balls on the deck and capped off an excellent performance with a nice goal too, utter unit. Also special mentions for Smith, Stappershoef and Upson who all had good games. Just hope Sercombe’s injury isn’t too bad as himself and Upson and Ogogo had started to perform a good partnership in midfield.

The football sounds horrendous but even so, to be up to third is nothing short of remarkable. I still think gravity will eventually catch up with us but am starting to entertain the idea that I might be wrong and that we could actually challenge for promotion.... The football wasn't horrendous at all. I thought Rovers played very well, some of the passing out from the back was excellent, and with a bit more composure could have scored 2 more. MKD had a tidy midfield but we restricted them to playing the ball back and forth the middle of our half, and the 3 centre backs were immense. Mr Stopashot had one save to make all game, and comfortably plucked every high ball out of the he air. He was pretty good at time wasting as well. GC has got us playing as a very savvy, efficient unit. I thoroughly enjoyed today. To all the stay-aways:- it may not be the free-flowing expansive football that DC played, but we're well- drilled and hard to beat. Why don't you come back and give us a go for e next home game. |
