Oh hello. The old deflection technique eh? Have you listened to the recording? When was it recorded and why has it been leaked to a sympathetic website less than 24 hours after the news of Boris' run in with the ITV journalist? Because he was talking to a 'mate' who just happened to be a Tory Activist ! No idea why it was leaked, but it is genuine.

Yep, I think many voting labour feel the same way. I was not deflecting, oh master of that dark art, I was merely responding to your faux outrage. Outrage? No outrage. I'm laughing my bollux off about it ! Faux my dear chap, Faux

Adam Price last night mooted the idea of a law that would see politicians who can be proven to have lied prosecuted. The lad from the Green Party seemed heavily in favour too.
Three questions arise from that: Why don’t we have one already? Is it workable? Who would vote to implement it?

Apparently we are all lefties, all of us falling for propaganda. Reading the actual number of people on here who appear disgusted at the Tory Party and Johnson in particular, the New Years Party for "Lefties" will be oversubscribed...Nobby and his ilk will fit in a Mini 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Three questions arise from that: Why don’t we have one already? Is it workable? Who would vote to implement it? Can't do it. You all claim that Johnson lied about leaving the EU or you'll find him dead in a ditch. Well, he didn't lie. When he made that statement, he was not to know that Parliament would change the law making it impossible........but there are those among you who still claim he lied.......but he didn't. Circumstances change. I posted an interview with Jess Phillips (Labour MP) a while back. She is a very straight talker and she said that sometimes politicians do make promises, but circumstances can change making it impossible to deliver on those promises. Hey, I am not defending politicians but just trying to point out the reality. I also think that in recent times politics has gone to Court too many times.

88% of Tory ads found to be misleading vs 0% of labour ads. You can definitely trust Johnson.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Hey, I am not defending politicians but just trying to point out the reality. I also think that in recent times politics has gone to Court too many times. That seems a reasonable answer. It’s hard to police even if only because, as you point out, the very definition of a lie is open to debate. I have been of the opinion for a long time that a manifesto should be a contract governed by law. So there are penalties for promises that are shown not to have had best efforts made to realise them. That’s possibly a more workable approach than a liar’s bill.

I guarantee you that Laura K didn’t tweet it Even by their standards it’s been a shocking campaign from the Tories. A new low in politics and most likely down to the influence of Cummings. I worry that it’s set a precedent now and all subsequent elections will be fought on the same principle of digital dis-information being more powerful than the truth.

Because people believe it and therefore it works. You only have to scratch the surface but most dont.
