Menayese out of his depth? ? Played more than a dozen games in League 2 and is now playing in a team which going by league standings should mean he's surrounded by better players. Got caught out once - with no help from others - & gave away a debatable penalty. Very unfair to single him out Sorry it’s a case where the words didn’t truly reflect what I meant ... he is a very young lad, not much game time and thrown in when it would have been better to introduce him slowly. I felt for him as where was the rest of the defence in the 95th minute of a cup game .... Stood watching out of position ! Personally I don’t think he is quite ready for it all BUT has really played above all expectations ... well certainly mine.

Because most people here, and I agree, seem to want to keep politics off this forum, except where it directly affects the Gas

How can he not be ready when he's performed well in all the games he's played, regardless even if he wasn't ready what's GC supposed to do ask Davies to play even though he's not fit? What's baffling is why he's been kept waiting so long for a decent run of games, at the moment he's looking more impressive than Kilgore.

Personally haven't seen Rollin put a foot wrong in any of his starts (Northampton away 6-0 included) and he has more than impressed me. So much so, he will be extremely unfortunate when a fully fit Tom Davies comes back into the side ahead of him.

Found myself standing on the east terrace next to someone with a clipboard, who was busy making notes throughout the game. Curiosity got the better of me so I asked him at half time what he was doing. Turns out he was scouting Plymouth for their next opponents. A neutral’s opinion is always interesting. He was dissappointed we didn’t play better so that Argyle were under more pressure. JCH and Menayese were our best players. Clarke was having to do too much of the work in midfield and Ogogo always plays the easy pass because he doesn’t look up and scan the pitch when he has the ball. We also play the long ball too often, rather than playing out from defence. Probably not too much different from the general consensus on here. Was this in the East Terrace near the set of stairs? Interesting to hear a professional opinion state that "Menayese was one of our players". Some on here seemed to think he was "out of his depth". Yes. An African guy wearing a bright orange woolly hat.

I know fans are suggesting we need new Strikers, new Wingers, but we desperately need a Midfield. Ollie Clarke did sod all yesterday, again, and whilst he was on, Upson did exactly the same. We're getting torn apart in the middle of the park and they offer no creativity, no outlet, nothing.
Back to the Studio.

Agreed we had nothing really in the centre of the pitch yesterday, although we're still in the two cups and on the fringe of the play offs and the same midfield totally out played Shrewbury's last weekend. Upson's problem was his early booking took away his ability to tackle and so made him totally ineffective.

Could not go due to son s match, but why do we give players chances to go down to get soft pens against us, the first one given would not have resulted in a goal, love Abs but we gave the ref a ponderous decision, which went against us. GC would have been pulling his hair out, Mayor looks just what we need as well.

Mayor does look a good player but we should be careful about attempting to sign players on the criterion that they played well against us. If that was the benchmark, I suspect that there would be a filing cabinet of eligible L1 players!
Has Mayor been in devastating form this season? If that is the case no doubt there will be considerable interest in him during the January window. If he ever ended up at Rovers I'm sure he will be able to teach our players to fall to the ground whenever challenged as he seems to have a remarkably fragile sense of balance.
I'm sure a one on one training session with Tony Craig would toughen him up!

There must be some reason he swapped the north west for the south west, either Plymuff are paying him decent money or no other local league 1 side were interested in signing him. Not sure I'd be risking spending big money on a player who'll be 30 next year.

Single handedly creating his own transfer budget I guess he didn't read the small print in his contract "Any money received from TV broadcasts will go to pay off the club's debts until they are cleared" (sorry, thought I'd post that before Knowall gets chance)

I'm sure a one on one training session with Tony Craig would toughen him up! There was a lot of talk in the summer about him. He was available on a free and was widely regarded as the best player in league two so it’s not a case of talking him up just on a performance against us. I can only guess his decision to go to Plymouth was part financial and part following his manager. He’s now under contract and will attract a hefty fee so it’s unlikely we’ll ever see him in the quarters. Whether we were ever in for him who knows but that boat (along with Jack Payne) has now sailed.
