Not disrespectful at all. Just pointing out we are very short on experience and we can't rely on these youngsters to get us promo tion. Can't remember the last incumbent having to fill the bench with young lads or even being prepared to give them a chance. I can see both sides but certainly you (Bideford gas) are much closer to the truth. I'll add one thing though. DC rarely had injuries to deal with, which helped the bench situation so I feel that's a slightly unnecessary dig. After years and years of regular serious injuries (I seem to remember ACL's every few month!) DC's tenure was a fantastic change to fit, reliable and hungry players. Maybe the backroom staff were better as well? Hard to know but certainly not totally 'luck' I would suggest. Istr (according to forum rumour) Phil Kite was deliberately injuring players while John Ward wasn't looking, or something.

I don’t know whether it is his attempt at being funny but our manager is just down right disrespectful when speaking about players outside of the starting 11. He saps all good feeling I have about Bristol Rovers that I have at the moment. Can you ever remember us naming a younger or less experienced bench for a league game? And the most experienced of them has been ill all week! Certainly not since the naming of multiple subs was allowed. We did name Neil Slatter as a sub when he was very young I think. Today we named four subs who had not made a league start for anybody. Victor and JVS had managed 8 starts for Rovers between them. If you’d told me Kelly with 23 League starts to his name would be our veteran on the bench I’d have been extremely surprised!

Bloomin eck! what a result, talk about making some of the posters comments on here look really stupid! Mods; any negative posts about GC should be banned from now on ,even if we have a dip in form which all clubs do! The man obviously knows what he 's doing, how to set a team up to get results, how to foster the required team spirit and work ethic to bring success and to get them all pulling in the same direction, the only exceptions being those fans who cannot move on from DC, for goodness sake you lot 'get over it!', while we were getting one of the results of the day Walsall were drawing at home to the mighty Macclesfield!. Those who remember the Twerton days will recall that there were much better footballing sides in the league than us BUT, there wasn't any better TEAM! and the best TEAM won the championship! well done all concerned today, the scenes at the end today were brilliant! and hope Tom gains confidence from his goal and his reception, brilliant backing from true Gas eds and that journey home is going to be so ,so much more enjoyable! up the Rovers!

What a great result. It was hard work - Ipswich are a good side and we had to dig deep - and we did, especially after that useless Ref sent Ollie off. I'm staying in Ipswich tonight and just off for some Fish and Chips. Will post more thoughts later.
Well done GC - and what a reaction at the whistle from him, the players and us. GC please stay!

GC Said he wants money to strengthen in January we ll see then what our desire is to make a serious challenge. He's got every right to ask for some with that bench! TBH it's perfect timing. If you're a Chairman / owner and your team are struggling in December you might think 'should I loosen the purse strings for this lot?' and the answer might be no. Better to be on the up

Listening to Ian Holloway co-presenting with Alan Brazil next week should be entertaining.

Anyone seen the Nichols interview?
Superb interview, really came across well after putting in probably his best performance for the club.
