The thing is, he could well have killed his career with that interview. Surely his position here is now untenable and if he goes to Mansfield there is no guarantee that he will hit that magic formula he has with us. Football is all about reputation and momentum and just sometimes getting lucky. Having just the right players and a bit of luck. I'm sure many managers will admit everything only aligns a handful of times in their careers. To shoot himself in the foot when right on the brink of something that could have made his name is utterly bizarre. Absolutely spot on.

So, whats going on then? Surely he's told the club at this point that either he's staying, he's resigning or we've accepted an approach from Mansfield. Yet as f*cking usual we've heard nothing. The club really should have made a statement last night, yet here we still are wondering wtf is going on. Why should we hear anything if the club are trying to convince GC to stay or trying to agree compo? Love the way Mansfield fans think we haven't got a pot to p1ss in w/o knowing anything about our owners finances. After yesterday I hope we are not trying to get him to stay.I dont say this with any bitterness,or a lack of respect for the past year towards him.But he f**ked that up yesterday by going public - which I believe, and hope we are not trying to do due to the pride of our club if nothing else. Also we could have only 1p superguled to to our clubs right bollox and still be a much,much..much bigger and better supported club then they were will be.

Derek Adams? My god are you having a laugh or do you want us back in the Conference (or whatever it's called)? With our connections will we go through the list of all previous Plymouth Managers, should be a few to choose from! Includes Holloway and Neil Warnock!

They haven't even informed us that Mansfield approached us ffs! This is pretty standard procedure to at least say "We've had an approach from Mansfield Town for Graham Coughlan, which has been rejected" Instead, they say nothing - as usual.

Often with Rovers I look at us and I think “what would someone like Darragh MacAnthony do?” He would be on Twitter right now telling the fans what a **** GC is and that’s exactly what I want to see- a bit of fire in the belly and a sense of not taking this lying down. We get the sound of wind and a bit of tumbleweed rolling across our social media platforms. The Chuckle Brothers have probably delayed the press conference because they are still trying to figure out where the stooge who they used to wheel out to take the flak for bad news has gone. Where is the strong leadership here? The manager is under contract to us so we should be in control but sadly a tail that is battling relegation to the conference is wagging the dog that is 4th in the league above. It’s awful. What a rotten club we are. Even when things are going well they are rubbish.

But maybe he feels without more backing we cannot go beyond our current league position? If that is the case and we even lose a few players we could gradually slip down the table and his career be tarnished that way too? If Mansfield have genuine long term ambitions and promise control and support in player recruitment maybe that will prove a better career choice? Lots of ifs, buts and maybe’s. Hopefully we’ll get some clarity tomorrow. I wonder if Wael will be in the planned press conference as someone mentioned he is currently in the UK?

Wael not leaving Chelsea until tomorrow morning, probably why the conference is in the afternoon.

UK could not do Brexit and have F....ed it up. Will GC be able to do BR Exit?
You have Ipswich 1-2 Gas hours to answer. Will it be Yes or No? Hard or Soft? Answers tomorrow at 14:00.
PS Whatever happens, thank you GC and Good Luck. PPS Personally I think the Ipswich end celebration by GC to fans was a final thank you.

In recent history it’s funny how those managers who show ambition I.e Holloway , Clarke and Coughlan eventually leaves. Which leaves the loyal fans paying the price. I’ve always said that Directors , Managers, and Players come and go but Loyal Gasheads stay . But sadly even those fans patience are pushed to the limits. Myself personally I want to be proud of and defend Bristol Rovers FC.. ( and I would like to add my family has been associated with the Club since the 1950’s ) . How much more I can take ? I really don’t know. ...

Hopefully something will now have to give by the summer, either the ALQ's commit themselves to the club long term and give whoever is in charge a decent playing budget and sort out the stadium/training ground position, or sell up and move on.

BEP article stating GC is taking training this morning but he is certain to be gone. Mansfield are expected to make a 2nd approach and the relationship between GC & the board has broken down.
The board are shocked at how unhappy he is as he knew the circumstances when he signed a contract, so they feel like he’s stabbed them in the back.
Widdrington & Starnes held an emergency meeting with Wael online yesterday to discuss ways forward. They want an experienced L1 manager who will carry on GCs work and hit the ground running.
I have to say, I’m losing a lot of respect for GC.

What I don't understand is why he's back in training? The bloke should be whacked on gardening leave with immediate effect. Shows pathetically weak leadership from the top in my opinion. No wonder he/Mansfield are walking all over us!
