Anybody who watched JVS in the EFL micky mouse cup will know he is a good keeper I have, and don't rate him. Well i do so there ! lol

Bring in an "emergency" loan keeper seems the obvious solution, one who can takeover from Anssi as like GGMI I've zero confidence in JVS, although I guess he'll never improve if he never plays. What did JVS do wrong today? As far as I could tell he did OK when called into play after a very short space of time, and I don't think he was at fault for any of their goals. It was noticeable how their defence were able to pass the ball around in defence, to and from their keeper while we just stood back and let them do it. Their attack didn't give our defence a minutes peace, and were pressing around our penalty area the whole game. we really need to stop surrendering the middle of the pitch.,we invited relentless pressure all game and today our luck ran out, costing us 3 goals. I think all 3 goals were saveable. First one is low but close to him, pretty poor shot. Perhaps could've gone with feet. Second and third goals he doesn't impose himself at all. A better keeper comes out big and strong on both of them. If Jaakkola had been in net, I think he saves at least 2 out of the 3. Having said that, will back the lad. He can do better and has been ok in games this season. Defence needs to be better than they were yesterday, Craig and Kilgour looked slow and lethargic and their strikers just waltzed past them.

I'm not expecting a replacement to be brought in sadly. Will be going with JvS and Alexis.

I agree, but with budgets stretched I think we will be prioritising in other areas and going with the 2 keepers we've got. Obviously if things go badly over the next couple of games things could quickly change!

Whilst I'd love us to get a replacement in, it will probably be JvS for the foreseeable future.
I thought he could have done better with the first 2 yesterday but I imagine it's not easy coming on as a sub GK and being match sharp. You can't exactly work your way into the game and even the pre-match warm up is only really geared up for the starting GK.
Hopefully with JvS knowing he's starting and the correct preparation with him and the rest of the defence, we will see a much improved display from them all on Sunday.

I do think some of the criticism of Van Stappershoef is perhaps a little harsh. He's not on Jaakkola's level for sure but he's deputised well for him in the past and I don't think he's as bad as he's made out to be. We've had much worse keepers play for us in the not too distant past. Absolutely harsh. When he was doing fine in cup matches he was van der Sar, now all of a sudden people are willing to waste money on a loanee rather than give him a chance. Baffles me

Oxford's keeper Eastwood got injured and they loaned Jordan Archer from Millwall, an experienced championship keeper.

Not sure why trust Alexis for up to 3 months if Anssi's shoulder injury is a significant one, if it was my money I'd spend it on a reserve keeper rather than another outfield player. We can get along without a winter etc but we could be knackered w/o a decent reserve goalie.

We could have had Laurence Vigouroux on a free but he went to Orient yesterday

We may not see Jaako again this season. Bad injury for a keeper

I reckon Marek Stech or David Stockdale could be available if looking for experienced Anssi cover. Both currently out of the first team picture at their respective clubs. Stockdale spent loan spells at at Coventry, Wycombe and Southend last season. Has 32 clean sheets in 69 games in League's One/Two and 72 clean sheets from 232 games in the Championship. Stech starred with Yeovil keeping 19 clean sheets the season they won promotion to The Championship and has 18 clean sheets from 49 games for Luton.

Only been on subs bench for Cardiff once in the past few months.
