What’s our original target Joe Day doing? Only been on subs bench for Cardiff once in the past few months. That’s where I’d be looking then, location suits him as well

Personally I'd play JVS, if he really is a player we are investing in long term to develop into a first team keeper then we need to show some faith in him. Unless we're hell bent on going for promotion and want to sacrifice an outfield signing for another top keeper?

I agree with this. No point having JVS unless you are going to play him when required, unless the new boss doesn't rate him. If Andre cannot be recalled then a young goalkeeper on loan (maybe from Prem/Champ to provide cover) would suffice.

How's the time to remain with JVS. At present he is not as good as Jaak but he is very competent and with experience and belief will develop into a good goalkeeper.
There are any number of problem areas in the team that need addressing before goalkeeper.
Having said that losing Jaak for an extended length of time has been a bitter blow. He was clearly one of my he best keepers in the Division.

Fantastic keeper. agree a massive loss, we talk about how good our defence was in GC but when you look at the table and the shots made against him it’s quite high when compared to other teams in the top half. The Plymouth replay was a showcase for how things were under GC, we defended well but even then gave away quite a few shots on goal that Plymouth either missed or forced Jaakola in world class saves. Pretty much every week towards Christmas Jaakola would produce a massive save. It’s becoming clear that without him the defence are still giving up chances, the opposition are now taking them. So I think it’s fair to argue that our defence all along has not been as good as it looks on paper- if it was an average keeper should have an armchair ride behind it. It’s a decent defence propped up by a class keeper and now it’s all being exposed. Although we have obviously suffered defensive injuries in that time too and perhaps had to over-rely on Menayese.

The two youngsters Rollin and Alfie have had to play too many games due to injuries, and have been under too much pressure in every game due to the woeful protection from the midfield and wingbacks. We desperately need Davies fit, a right back, a ball winning midfielder, a striker, and possibly a keeper at least as back up. I fear we are doomed as I just can't see us getting another point all the time we keep doing the same thing, with the same players and being managed over the phone!
