What has happened to him? On our OS it says he is out on loan at Maidenhead. On their website it says he is on a season loan but it says he hasn't played for them this season. (On his Profile)

According to soccerbase.com he's played 23 times for Maidenhead, scoring no goals. Only played twice in December though. So not sure if he's injured, or not getting in the team. Either way, he's still wasting some of our budget and I doubt we will see him play for us again.

Maybe just look at their team sheets first to avoid making a silly thread?

Yes, with transfer fee and wages that's a couple of hundred thousand wasted on Mensah and add to that the three to four hundred thousand on fees, wages and pay-off that Payne cost the club. I bet BG wishes that type of money is made available to him this window. Still he should know tomorrow...

The money we are paying towards Mensahs wages will also count. Plus if we manage to offload Bennett, I expect we will still be paying a decent chunk of his. It's going to be hard this season. In the summer, who ever is in charge, will find it easier to shape the squad how they want it. A lot of player's will finally be off our books.

"Whoever is in charge" - do you think there is a chance that it won't be Garner?

If we lost the next 10 games, then he won't be here next season. It can still go either way IMO. He's a good coach, but that does not always translate to management. I don't think he will be here at the end of his contract though. I would put money on that.

There is no way he will be sacked this season no matter how many games he loses.

I don't think he will be here at the end of his contract, because if he does well,I think a championship club will take a chance on him. If he does not do well, he will get sacked. But either way, I can't see him being here for more than 18 months. Unless we announce a takeover or stadium etc.

So maybe if garner wants to spend say £400k he needs to sell someone for at least £800k.

I guess that's what you get by gambling on National League players, at the time Mensah looked a decent signing.

Every player is a gamble; non-league that can’t step up, higher league on the way down, too young and lacking experience, old and wise but slowing down, coming back from long term injury, overseas but homesick, etc, etc. Even if you are spending millions you can’t predict the future however if you haven’t got the cash (like us) you can lower the risk by managers working with players they know and developing the youth team which is exactly what we are doing. That’s why, in my opinion, the scouting at BRFC is crucial to our ability to stay in this league and hopefully progress.

What’s the obsession on this forum with slagging off Trotman, was a key player for the first 2/3’s of the Conference season. Should always be welcomed back as a guest of the club.

We only lost 3 of the 19 games Trotman played in. Now working as an agent as far as I know.

Well, to be honest, I couldn't remember much about him and was just trying to fill my team sheet up. I've got nothing against Fallon, Bell-Baggie, Lawrence and Hartley either.
