Thanks for the update. I expect we’ll see a couple on the bench for the Coventry game and then they’ll get a full run out against Stevenage in the cup. THD and Davies are big additions and good to have Matthews back into the squad after so long out too. BG said back in full training nit ready for 1st team action, I can't see him rushing any of those 3 back and risk losing them again. I can't see why DC/GC could never give us similar updates in the past. It sounds like we won't be signing a replacement goalie if JVS & Alexie can perform.

THD, Tom Davies and Sam Matthews are all back from their injuries and in full training adding competition again to the squad. Just need to get them up to speed with their match fitness so will see them gradually to begin with.
Tyler Smith however is 3-4 weeks away from returning following his foot injury in training. Apparently kicked an object in frustration and done himself in!
Anssi Jaakkola has had scans done on his injury and the club will know by early next week to determine how long he will be out for, so too early to tell. Alexis is back at the club and is now our back up to JVS.
Did Tyler kick Tony Craig? Lucky to be out for just a few weeks after kicking concrete!

I reckon Matthews could thrive here under a manager like Garner.

I reckon Matthews could thrive here under a manager like Garner. Definitely a player with good technical ability and was excited by him when he first joined. Been unlucky with injuries and change of manager, as clearly didn't suit GC's style of football. Just needs to settle in games better but with experience I'm sure he can.

Davies now out for the season. Garner has said it looks like he will need an operation on his knee problem. Shame as he's looked good the majority of the time, when he's played.

Frustrating because if anyone was going to help us become better defensively, it was Tom Davies. Quality League One centre back on his day. Hopefully he makes a swift recovery.

I did predict this a while ago. Just seemed typical Rovers to take a ‘wait and see approach’ when it was always likely to need an op. Could have had this done months ago and be ready to return by now. I think it’s important for Little and THD to say fit now to add solidity and experience to the back four with Kilgour alongside Craig in the middle (Unless Harries is looking brilliant in training and U23 games).

The guy who maintains the pitches at Cribbs was on here a couple of weeks ago telling us how good they are and the praise they have received for them. You could say 'he would say that, wouldn't he?', but he seemed genuine enough.

You could say 'he would say that, wouldn't he?', but he seemed genuine enough. I believe we hire one pitch, which is a good grass pitch. But during periods of heavy rain it becomes waterlogged like most amateur pitches. You cannot train on it when its frozen either of course. So many clubs now have facilities to get around these problem and also have more than one pitch available to allow more training options.
