Good morning ladies and gents. First of all it is lovely to be in the 3rd round of the FA Cup for once. A tough fixture against Coventry awaits. If you had asked me about this game a month or so ago, then I would have felt more confident. We were on fire beating the likes of Ipswich away. We haven't scored a goal from open play in 4 games, and since Garner come in we have looked like boys vs men, with no clear identity of playing.
Coventry on the other hand were winless all season in the league, away from home. However since, theh have beaten Ipswich, Wycombe and Tranmere away. They had a game less over the Xmas period (Bury game cancelled) and we have become mentally weak with a ready made excuse today that "we have a small squad and have become tired this was always going to happen" is the message from a lot of our fans. This annoys me but I do also have a theory that maybe possession based teams with bigger squads do better over the Xmas period as less tired, not sure if someone with enough time could study this?
So with everything in mind, I will confidently predict an away win, and will go for 0-2. And will hope to be smothered with egg on my face.

Thought BGs pre-match interview was very impressive, he seems to have a clear vision for how wants the club to progress ,and how the team play and convinced me that we are in good hands, I for one am quite prepared to suffer the setbacks along the way as he collects all the pieces of the jigsaw, some won't fit and will be discarded before the puzzle is complete and we have to give him time, especially those who have been moaning about our style of play, seems he and Wael are on the same page and my only concern is the suits behind the scene , whereas BG and Wael see Rovers as a passion the men in grey look on us purely in financial terms ,we being there current ,play, thing. As for today ,its a free hit as far as I am concerned, a chance to take the shackles off and for the players to express them selves, hope couple of youngsters get chance to show what they can do and we play with the freedom to excite the crowd, don't know if JCH is 100% fit if not ,rest him, if he is then yes play him but for goodness sake JCH cheer up and concentrate on doing what you do best instead of waving your arms about and moaning at every one ,it's not helping! This could be an exiting end to end humdinger which I fear Coventry will come out on top , but you never know and me being an optimist call it 3-2 Rovers! come on Gas!!

Must be the least inspiring match thread opener of all time. Well, he talks a good game, but he can't get the team to perform, and his record is poor.

Absolutely brilliant from Lance.. The pre match entertainment may be better than the main event!
A nod to our opposition, let ska commence..

Are we part of BBC’s coverage today where they show goals as they go in?

Are we part of BBC’s coverage today where they show goals as they go in? It appears BBC aren't doing their coverage.... they've got the Scouse derby on live instead.

I was hoping we would be - not for the embarrassment we may suffer, but for the extra dosh. As o2 says - the BBC listings show the live match and not the previous multi match coverage, shame.

As o2 says - the BBC listings show the live match and not the previous multi match coverage, shame. I think been would've sorted out their matches before we knew we were in the 3rd round. We got through a week later than everyone else because of the dosh from Plymouth via bt. I see it as elitism. Beeb can help fund smaller clubs, but they've opted to finance a fixture we see twice a season to clubs that already have more than all other minnows put together. And if it wasn't for us minnows, the romance of the cup wouldn't exist..

Gas stay true to form in the cup and draw, adding another unwanted fixture.
But do score from open play.
1-1.
